'If It's Football, It's Vital'

So he was there, but he is not returning...

The 'rumours' that SAF could make a 'dramatic' return to Pompey have started to grow recently.

Talk has been that he was in attendance at a few games recently, although I have to admit that I felt this 'unlikely' as he is not someone that keeps a low profile, or is able/wants to do this so until the Millwall game 'rumour' is all I felt this was...

Although it has since been confirmed that he was indeed at The Den, among the Pompey fans - where he was of course grilled and given some grief by all accounts, I was not there so could not say.

His explanation, according to what The News quotes a guy that was sat near him as saying, was 'he was just there to watch some football' and 'he wasn't interested in doing anything like that', this being returning in some way as part of the ownership set-up at Fratton.

Whilst he has, or at least had, an extensive list of contacts that - in the early stages of his ownership of the club - many felt could take us to 'another level', and not just a certain Storrieteller, as the guy had a proven history of links or ties with some powerful people with financial muscle it soon became apparent, for whatever reason, he was out of his depth in club ownership...

I still feel that he pretty much always came in with the right intentions although he bit off much more than he could chew, maybe due to people 'concealing' certain things from him yet he was also 'naïve' in his thinking and actions and this was exploited by those that really should have been helping him I guess.

He very much appreciated the fans and knew that we needed to be treated the right way, as did the community as a whole but some of his ridiculous comments, actions and statements, not to mention his lack of funds to carry out the basics that were required did him little favours!

The guy is, in the nicest of possible ways, a nutter - but sometimes of the good kind but I certainly would not want him to return so it does worry me slightly that he is back on the scene, as simply 'taking in a game' is bound to set tongues wagging, right...

I thought this was just some rumour, I thought some fat bloke of middle eastern descent and a dodgy half-beard had been there and people had put two and two together. This guy was one of the major players in the almost total demise of our club. He came in full of promises. He said he had money to invest, he even said he was a doctor FFS, and he did nothing. Whether he was one of the ones stripping the club to its bare bones I don't know, but following on from Gaydamak not paying the bills he certainly took that onto a new level and the club was even suffocated in pre-season while he decided if he would buy the club or not. Welcome him back as a fan? You've got to be kidding! I don't know what he's up to now, but I do know that it is 'no good'. Go away Sulaiman.

Got to agree tracy.... memories are short. This guy despite being cuddly (if u like that kind of thing) mucked our club about for months. He had no money and probably still hasn't.

lol at the cuddly comment! You got to admit there is something likeable about the guy though, but don't want him involved in the running of the club in any shape or form, cuddly or not!

Welcome him back, I certainly wouldn't, lying tw*t. I am prepared to let Chanrai have a go at getting us into a stable situation. Of course the guy wants his money back, what bussiness person wouldn't. In order to do that though we need to be ina sellable state, which means of course financially stable and playing Championship winning standard of football. So if he can get us to that, happy days :-)

We can never make an "SAF" judgement without having full details of Storrie's activities.
