Emana To Sign and 'Blossom'

Portsmouth have successfully agreed a deal for Achille Emana, who has decided to move to the Premier League.

The deal for Emana is all set to go through after he agreed terms for a three-year contract. With the Toulouse player getting a further fourth year, if the club wish to extend the current deal.

Toulouse agreed a fee of €4 million (£2.7 million) for the Cameroon international. The player will be unveiled once he has undergone a medical on Thursday at Fratton Park.

The player made 25 appearances for Toulouse last year, scoring twice.
Emana said, 'The Premier League is a fantastic championship, it interests me a lot.'

Emana admits he is good friends with Pompey striker Benjani and he would love the chance to play with him.

'I would like to bring to Portsmouth everything I can,' he continued.

'I have a close friend who plays there, Benjani. I would be happy to play with him, and I would discover a new team, new team-mates, a new staff.

'It is the beginning of a new era for me and I wish to blossom there."

Let's hope he & Benjani help each other to help Pompey. After all it has to click all these new foreign players. I'd settle for a few good old fashiones, been there & done English pros who freak out because it is Bolton away on a wet Monday in January.

It may not be any better but you play in England & your salary goes thru the roof.

I only hope that he can understand what H.R. says. It wouldn't do for our manager to be signing blokes that cannot understand him, would it?

he must speak english

I am not sure he has seen the end of season results and covered both bases, stayed up = PL and relegation would have been championship. Could be a similar player to Benjani, seem to have similar scoring rates.

who emana and benjani? one plays upfront one defensive mid lol

He's certainly a ball winning type of midfielder - get's quite a few yellow cards - has 21 from 90 games in the last 3 seasons in France. He averages 3 goals a season. Here's what the French Football site said about his performances two seasons ago: "France forward Daniel Moreira gained much of the credit for Toulouse’s impressive form in 2004. But the performances of Cameroon international Achille Emana, loitering just behind Moreira, were one of the most pleasant surprises for Coach Erick Mombaerts. The attacking midfielder, who can operate on the right flank or in the hole, hounded Ligue 1 defences throughout 2004/05, a revelatory season for him. “He’s so explosive and he can dictate the rhythm of a match,” enthused Mombaerts in February 2005. “He has become a more complete player this season and is close to his best level now.” So he might be competing with Gary O'Neill on the right hand side of midfield????
