'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Lampitt assures us Lawrence is staying

I guess a lot of us have seen, or at least heard, the 'rumours' about an interest in Liam Lawrence from West Brom, right?

If not, where have you been for starters, but it 'said' that they are looking in muscle in when January comes round because his move to Pompey is technically only a loan at the moment...

I would also guess that we are mostly all equally aware that David Lampitt has said, as he has told The News, that he is under no doubt that the Irish international is coming to Fratton permanently and has 'reassured' us that this will happen: 'Liam will be signing for us in January permanently, I can reassure the fans of that.

'He's our player, he's been first class - and long may that continue.'

Yep, Lawrence has been 'first class' since his arrival and I also agree long may this continue and I am sure it will, fingers crossed...

When all is said and done, assuming we really do have a deal in place with Stoke - which we do - then there should be no problem at all and unless it was a ridiculously high offer he, and most others that we have, will NOT go anywhere in the New Year!

It's amazing how a 'one line made up story' in a tabloid newspaper has created so much hysteria! PUP

    PS. Anyone seen the story about us signing ......... . . . . . .

to be fair Norfolk given the goings on of the past couple of years in many ways is it any wonder that people do get alittle edgy when talks of players going, even if the club say they will not, surface...
as it is, and i seriously hope that this REALLY is the case now, the impression being given by lanmpitt is that things really are changing at the club so if we are told things from now on more often than not we would hope it true.

I hope he does have a pre- dated contract signed, cos other than that, how does Lampitt know if LL will stay? three months is a very long time in Football, I've decided.

I've got no reason at all to not completely trust everything David Lampitt tells us - lets hope it stays that way.
