Pompey win again!

The Pompey Site has announced that Pompey have won another battle, and therefore saved more money!

A fine was handed to the club for pulling out of the reserve league, although - and even though it was 'only' £5,000 - this has been overturned following a successful appeal.

Pompey Win Appeal

Pompey have successfully appealed against a £5,000 fine for pulling out of the Football Combination League.

The Blues opted not to compete in a reserve league this season because of the small size of their squad.

The Football Combination League fined Pompey £5,000 for withdrawing from its competition, but an FA Sanction And Registrations Committee Appeal Board have upheld Pompey's appeal against the fine.

Portsmouth Football Club would like to thank Biscoes solicitors for their help in preparing the appeal.

I wonder if the fee we paid to Biscoes solicitors for preparing the appeal was greater than the 5,000.

Can someone make sure Storrieteller doesn't work for this firm of solicitors.

It's a minor point won but the greater concern is it is another victory for the club organisation. It shows Pompey are on their way back and the days of just sticking fines on the club CIA it had no money to fight the case are gone. If it cost more that £5k - so what it's an administrative victory which goes to enhance the club reputation for trying to install sound foundation management.

I would also hazard a guess that Biscoe's donated a large sum toward the cost.

I can't understand why it had to go to court when it was obvious to all that Pompey didn't have the players at the time to fulfill the fixtures. Stupid waste of bloody money.
