'Eriksson has made a fundamental error by selecting Walcott,' said Redknapp to The Daily Mirror.
'From what I hear even the Arsenal players are not sure how good Walcott is.
'I certainly think he's not up to it. At Saints I watched him in FA Youth Cup ties against Ipswich and Wolves and each time he drifted to the flanks he was marked out of the game.
'He could not impose himself even at that level. Through the middle he had pace, he was a much better player, but he drifts in and out.
'I think Eriksson has taken a massive gamble in selecting only four strikers and, because he's not good enough, Walcott won't figure at all.'

I dont think he should of gone.Should of took Defoe.He is the one for the future but he aint done owt yet apart from scare defenders.

Absolute lunacy from Sven. Of course the players worth has gone up a lot from this selection so that Arsenal should be happy. So David Dein should be happy. Hang on Dien is high up in the FA, so must see Sven a fiarbit. Hmmm.. Dien. Brown Paper bag. Sven.

For those who have been living in a box (like AC), David Dien doesn't have much to do with the FA anymore - he was replaced by Gill (of Man Utd).

At least Walcott is fit, I don't what Sven was thinking about taking Owen & Rooney we need players that are 110 % fit to win a World Cup.

Load of carp. He hasn't played yet so how can anyone say it's a mistake. If he'd played 2 games and been subbed in both and not scored a goal, then i'm sure most people would have said that it was a big mistake to take him. Ooooooooooooh, i think thats what has happened with Owen. Was he a mistake too? Load of bollox.

He may be good. Rio Ferdinand quoted that it was a great choice to take him. He is lightning fast and has no fear about playing at this level. Give him a chance before everyone slates him.
