Ritchie loaned out to Swindon
Not for the first time in his Pompey career, and also not for the first time to Swindon, Matty Ritchie has been sent out on loan.
The local lad has returned to Swindon, where he was on loan last season before he was recalled to help ease an injury crisis, who have been trying to sign him - be that permanently or on loan again - for some time for an initial month long loan.
He 'might' play a part for Swindon tomorrow night in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy...
It is somewhat 'strange' the timing of this loan, given our inability to fill the bench as it is, although with just under a couple of weeks before we play again you would 'hope' that our ownership situation 'could' become a bit clearer and that 'may' mean a loanee or two arriving and/or a free agent returning, or signing?
I guess this also gives Matty a chance for some football again, if this is extended for another month - and that would not surprise me - then as long as he comes back towards the end of this year, early next year at the latest it cannot do too much harm really.
At the very least we need him to sign the new contract we have spoken about!
Ritchie has something about him that I like and this, along with an attitude that sees him desperately want to play for Pompey, makes me hope that we do not let him slip away...

One out without one in; don't think so. Surprised it's Swindon, they aren't supposed to be talking to Pompey.

Cannot understand this move! We need numbers. Everything gone silent on Naughton though! Perhaps, Webber will be in the squad after the Int break. But another striker alongside Kanu and Ciftci. Ritchie should have stayed here just in case Utaka cools off! (which is not something impossible).

The Manager just does'nt want any youngsters, been trying to get rid of Matt since July. Soon they will all be a distant memory...will the last youth team player turn the Academy lights out !
