'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Right we were...again!

'Pompey would beat Bristol City', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I did agree with, and as with last Friday night they again proved right!

To say that we were 'confident' of victory last night would be an understatement, 81% is pretty unanimous that we felt we would again collect all 3pts, and once again we did with an impressive display in a highly entertaining game that we won 3-1.

In the build-up to the game I, and many others, kept saying and thinking that if we could not build on the 6-1 win over Leicester and carry that momentum forward into this game with Bristol City then we would never be able to get on a roll - whilst the 1st half took us a while to get going, when we did, bar the minor defensive blip, we did not look back.

Bring on the Boro; I wonder what we will vote for that?

To be honest I would take a point but I DO think we are capable of beating them and go into this in form, whereas Boro have been patchy for the past 12-months or so really with Gordon 'The Scummer' Strachan under pressure at The Riverside!

  • What the poll asked - Pompey v Bristol City

  • How you voted - Pompey win 81%
    Bristol City win 17%
    Draw 2%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

To keep the momentum going I would settle for a point at Boro. Our goal difference at just minus 2 stands out

Got to agree with you Dave, a solid performance and a point will lead us into the international break nicely. Of course a bloody good thrashing of them will be better and 11 points and a plus goal difference make the doubters have a bit of a rethink

I'll settle for 1 point at Boro, then a good few days to re-charge the batteries, and stuff Watford to make it 3 home wins on the trot.

I suppose I'd look at it this way - we should have got three points from a struggling bristol with what is in effect a bunch of prem and champ side winning players but I would have settled for a draw to get us into an unbeaten run. Fact is boro have lost against middle of the road opposition heavily in their last two matches. Reality is we should beat them - I would settle for a point to keep the unbeaten streak going and pray it makes christmas!

Love the win but leaving Boro without losing will do.

I'd take a point at Boro, of course, but I'm hoping for all 3. They are on a real losing streak and its all doom and gloom there, if we take our new found confidence we really can get something there. An away win anyone?
