Pompey DO owe Spurs
In January, one of the many farcical situations with Pompey in the past 18-24-months, saw Asmir Begovic's 'meant to be' move to Spurs - in a double deal involving Younes Kaboul - fall through as he went to Stoke instead.
This saw various rumours of money owed, £1m, to Spurs as a result and this also showed up on our financial records - with this uncovered as part of the ongoing battle in the courts.
It turns out that we DO owe Spurs this money as we had agreed that we would stump up the cash if we loaned, or sold, him to someone else other than Spurs as part of that deal if we, or he, backed out. Of course this happened.
Confirmation came yesterday that Spurs will get this money with it taken from money given to the club in form of parachute payment given directly to them.
'Perhaps' this is another reason why the loan move to Pompey of Spurs' Kyle Naughton is being held up?
If so, when this is sorted out it 'could' make this deal smother and easier to go through...
Another thing that also again 'reared' its head yesterday was talk from Milan Mandaric about taking over the club, but denied links with others.
It does seem that something less than 'straightforward' is going on over ownership as a situation that was 'meant' to have been sorted out by now is still ongoing - then again is anything with Pompey ever straightforward!
One thing that I am becoming more and more concerned about is the chance that Tom Lever could get control, and this would be a VERY BAD thing methinks - another worry is the people 'said' to be involved with him...
PLAY UP POMPEY!
