He could be a good signing. Not sure if 5.5 million is a bit much for him though. Does anyone agree or am i slightly under-rating him?

Talented player, but moody and troublesome and unlikely to unite the dressing room when going gets tough. He could have been a legend at City, but he dumped us in bad circumstances and I'm pleased to say his career has nose -dived ever since. I'd steer clear if I were you.

Thanks bluetone. How the hell does he get to be worth 5.5 million. I only hope they are talking bottle tops or we are wasting an awful lot of money. Mind you, knowing who you have to deal with when dealing with Anelka, i'm sure there are some massive envelopes involved. Not a good reason to sign a player, but hey, when has that ever stopped our manager.

just listened to arry on SSN and he rubished the 12 bid for defoe and also rubbished making any bids incl anelka. although he shifted a bit on the anelka one so maybe they look to make the signings soon...

According to redknapp its nonsence. I wish rumours would stop being posted. All its doing is getting the fans hopes up, then to be knocked back down.

I agree with you on this one Pompeymev. Lets talk about the players we have at the moment, not players we might get according to the press who want a story.

redknapp did have a smug look when he rubbished these claims, he looked like a naughty schoolboy who knew a dirty secret

Has Anelka got a good holiday house somewhere in the south of France to lend Pompey in the off season?

Anelka is a world class striker and he has shown is quality over the years. Yes he is sulky, so what? you want someone you can ban some goals right? and 5.5 under represent his worth. Haters better watch their tongue and be happy for the ambitious club
