New, and old, faces in the frame?
The News today says that Steve Cotterill 'could' have Rocha John Rocha, Kanu, Liam Lawrence, Dave Kitson and 'even possibly' Kyle Naughton available for the game with Ipswich tomorrow...
I can only assume that as Kitson's deal went through, without a hitch, on deadline day last week he is 100%, fitness permitting, available.
Rocha John Rocha, Kanu and Lawrence ARE all training with Pompey although 'officially' none have been confirmed, although it is 'said' it is just the football league approval that is needed.
As for Naughton, ok he has been 'linked' with a loan move, but again nothing is being announced officially so is he 'really' that likely to be around for tomorrow?
A 2-year contract has apparently been agreed with Rocha John Rocha, quite if it is a 1 or 3-year deal with Kanu is still as clear as mud although a deal has been agreed, apparently! Lawrence, from the looks of it, is coming in on loan before the permanent move is made in January.
The question is WHEN are we going to get the official news on this instead of having to read things in The News?
That said if it is the football league needing to 'approve' these deals exactly how long does it take for them to approve them - which begs the question WHY is it taking so long...

I see SC is now also talking about another unamed loan player....my guess would be a left winger but can't think who.

What a way to run a business. Is it Pompey or the League being incompetent? How can a manager plan for a match not knowing if half the team will be available?

Michael Johnson will never happen, ive heard it countless times but he is premier league standard with a huge reputation which he will not want to ruin by being associated with pompey (sad but true). He is also in man citys 25... I would be chuffed if we get Naughton although Im sure there will be a number of clubs trying to get him... The only leverage we would have over others is the obvious link we have with the yids, lets face it were not first choice for any player right now

southwell web... may be a good reason man city dont want him playing in the prem.. who knows... lets see, naughtin would be a good start BUT if we leave the window without a creative midfielder as well we'll be stuffed
