Oh no, not that time again!

Oh no, not that time again!

There was once a time that the closing of the transfer window was looked forward to with anticipation of what it would bring to Pompey, although it seems an age ago since that was the case...

Lets face those glory days contributed to our downfall too, so being careful what you wish for is something that many would have learned I guess anyway.

Now there is a different anticipation about it, with it more a relief when it slams shut so we know exactly what we have left - for another 6-months at least anyway!

Any arrivals, apart from those that 'could' be part of a move to Stoke for Marc Wilson, just will not happen will they.

If we manage to get through the day with Wilson the only departure I think many would be surprised...

At least after today, we will know what we have.

Well, that is apart from loan signings we 'should' be able to make from mid September onwards when we exit admin, are taken over and have the transfer embargo lifted - assuming we do!

I think it's safe to assume Wilson is off and we hope Slaka with him; although last match it was generally agreed in the media that Slaka was our best player. If Kitson comes we would have 5 players registered as strikers so I expect Nugent will be off to help balance the salary book.
