'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Boateng and four others move on

Its now been officially confirmed, on The Pompey Site, that Kevin-Prince Boateng has left for Genoa in a 'strange' move to say the least...

No fee has been revealed, although 'most reports' say it is around the £5.5m mark.

The thing that makes the move so strange is the agreement that looks 'set' to see him leave Genoa for a loan spell with Milan, ahead of a possible transfer next summer - 'if' he impresses with Milan than you would think that Genoa would sell him with a hefty profit, in spite of him 'possibly' never even playing for the club!

A certainty is the fact that Prince has now left.

In many ways I am not sorry to see this in all honesty although he is of course a quality footballer and I wish him well, although I also feel, as talented as he is, he is not 'quite' as good as he thinks he is and 'perhaps' this will be found out?

Joining him in leaving the club, which was again confirmed on The Pompey Site, are Danijel Subotic, Jordan Hughes, Gael Nlundulu and Gautier Mahoto.

All have had their contracts terminated by mutual consent and all leave the club, bar Mahoto, having failed to make a 1st team appearance - some, in the case of Subotic, in as long as 2 ½ years at the club as a professional...

Lundlulu was the one that had caught my eye in the reserves. Subotic looked ******, Mahoto ok. Hughes?

£5.5M is ok, and no doubt Genoa will get a subsidy back from Milan to cover the difference from their original £4M offer. Im Disappointed Mahato and Ndlundu gone, they both looked pretty good.

Nlundulu looked quite good as well.

Just hope (but bet we haven't) that we have added a sell on clause to the deal with Genoa. It seems every player we get and then sell on we get stung for (Bekovic springs to mind). Mind you different personnel in now so maybe we might se a bit of cash coming in next year.

If they couldn't get into the team as it is now they are not going to be missed, surely. Gives you scope to replace them as well for lower costs.
