Strike The Bar - Half Time Entertainment

Strike the Bar is an exciting new money raising competition initiative, devised by Glen Hoddle, raising funds for clubs via a half-time crossbar challenge. The competition is taking place at many of the country`s top football grounds during the 10/11 Season and this weekend sees a special format of the game designed to bring much needed funds to Football Clubs.

Every home league game, at participating clubs, fans can win up to an eye-watering £100,000 by taking place in the new halftime crossbar challenge. Clubs benefit from over 60% of the profits from the game, meaning that fans who enter the game are helping to generate finances for their team, as well as taking part in the first 'proper` entertainment at grounds seen in years.

goal

Do you remember Stuart Tinner who landed the ball on the bar at Wembley last year? See him in action here:

now football fans will be able to enjoy the same high!

At each match one lucky competition winner, with the balls to step out in front of a packed stadium, will be offered the chance to take a life changing shot at goal from the halfway line. Striking the crossbar will net the entrant up to the £100k jackpot whilst extra holes positioned within a specially constructed 'goal infill` provide consolation opportunities for a range of lower cash prizes, so even a 'daisy cutter` could net you some serious cash.

For a small entry fee, fans pick a home game of their choice and answer a simple question to be entered into a prize draw. One randomly selected correct entry will win complimentary match day tickets and the once in a lifetime opportunity to step out onto hallowed turf and cement their name in football folklore.

Drop kicking a rugby ball from the half way line is nowhere near the same as kicking a football from the ground from half way though is it. I would like to put £100 from Frippys Virtual Bookies that no fan hits the crossbar this season!

I'll give you odds of 1/500!

Easy solution - wear your footy boots to every match. And hussler yes I saw the two girls, they were in the South Stand a few seats from me - trust me you didn't want to see them up close!
