West Brom offer for Wilson rejected

Just catching a bit of sky sports news before leaving for work, they report - with the famous 'sky sports sources understand' - that an offer for Marc Wilson has been rejected.

It is 'claimed' that West Brom, who have been 'strongly linked' with the Pompey captain since last weekend, had offered £2m but this has been turned down.

I, as a self confessed Wilson fan, am of course happy to hear these 'rumours' and hope that this remains the case...

It's been confirmed in the News - "manager Steve Cotterill insisting Wilson is going nowhere".

Good, and I don't think da management ( anyone remember Hale & Pace) would have said that if they didn't have the backing of Chanrai.

    Please stay Marc.

Thank God Cotterill decided to make him captain. That should give him another reason to stay put.

lol on current performance of the robbins; if Chan comes in we might get Jamo back tttcchh 6 goals in 2 games is it?
    russellm
lol russell, yea they're not having a great start are they, but then conceding 6 do we want him back? Great news on Wilson as well and with Chan hopefully being back in by the weekend things could look a lot better.

wilson is a great young prospect but every player has his price and if a 4m bid comes in with a 20% sell on i would take it.... aslong as it could be invested in other players !! remember crouch sold for 5m and that 5m went on several players that got us up..

The good thing is that you can now turn these offers down. You look to have turned the corner.

SFC that is the point I was going to make as well - its very reassuring that we can turn round and say 'this player is not for sale' And to lose Wilson now, at this point in the season, would be so unsettling.

pompeyhussler; i think you are right, and many clubs have made more money from the sell on clause than they did in the original sale.
