Just what we need - 'the underdog tag'

Just what we need - 'the underdog tag'

Nope, I genuinely mean this - there is no sarcasm in this, we often dig deep and find a little something extra when we are 'the underdog'.

When last season ended, despite it being blatantly obvious our situation would worsen, we were still 'fairly fancied' to do well this season.

With things at PFC, well lets face it, not changing - in actual fact getting worse - it is little wonder that we now find ourselves among the favourites to be relegated...

We really are back to 'the good old days' where we battled relegation in the second tier of English football, although even the old days were not as desperate, nowhere near it, as they are now - I quite literally cannot recall a situation as dire as we are now in.

Fear not though, it will get better! I hope...

When the going gets tough Pompey generally get going, on and off the pitch. I feel sure that we, as fans, will do our part, lets just hope that the players do theirs too.

Relegation favourites, or one of them, I laugh in the face of this - although I must admit that survival is my highest objective this season as that in itself WILL be an achievement.

agree with yong .... my bookie certainly do NOT have us favs to go down. in fact they put us as mid table mediocrity. are we one of the worst teams in the league. despite our youth and lack of numbers in general I would still say NO! BUT... if we get a points penalty then yeah I think it will be game over! I met Linvoy and Herman yesterday at the b'mouth game - I forgot just how nice some footballers can be - got a photo with them and they genuinely wanted to chat!!! PUP!!
