Derbyshire and cash for Boateng? Yes please!

Derbyshire and cash for Boateng? Yes please!

Listening to Pompey's game against Bournemouth on The Quay tonight I heard them say that Admin Andy is in talks with Olympiakos about a deal to take Kevin-Prince Boateng to Greece.

That in itself is nothing 'special', although it was the following thoughts that we are trying to get cash plus Matt Derbyshire for Boateng that interested me more...

I remember Derbyshire from his Blackburn days and he knows where the net is so if we could pull this off we would have done extremely well!

By all accounts Olympiakos are looking to offload the striker, although I would be amazed if premier league clubs are not looking at the former England U21 international.

If we could do a deal to not only sell Boateng, therefore bringing in some money and getting his wages off the wage bill, and bring in Derbyshire this would be a cracking deal!

Then again this is Pompey we are talking about so this will not happen, will it...

I'd take that with both hands. Great deal if it does go through

Just back from Bournemouth - spirited display by both sides and an entertaining game .. Cotterill seems to have maintained the Avram Grant spirit amd good to see Ashdown Mullins Brown & Nugent give the fans (about 1500 I reckon) a good old clap at the end.. ahh it's got to see the blues back in action

That would be a great deal, I would go to the surgeon, have them perform a procedure to attach an extra arm to me, just so I could grab the deal with 3 hands.

Makes a lot of sense but I agree Derbyshire would want to get back to the PL. And the £10k a week ceiling might be a problem as nodster says.

Hartlepool (a) - Safety first!

A win at Wimbledon made sure of a play-offs place. Technically we can finish in the top 3 but this would require an unlikely set of results from too many clubs wouldn't it?
