'If It's Football, It's Vital'

'Cut price' Utaka has his 'pick' of clubs

According to 'reports' in The Star today John Utaka has his 'pick of clubs', and will now 'decide' between Bolton, Sunderland and (managerless) Fulham as to where he will play next season...

In fact he himself 'claims' that he has plenty of interest in him from the premier league and Germany, although the premier league is where he wants to stay - oh, and the fact that 'the money in England is good' is just a side product: 'my manager is looking into the offers before him. Everything is in the air. I would like to stay in the Premier League.

'It is quick, aggressive and direct and there are loads of goals every week. And, yes, the money in England is also good.'

You almost forget the 'good money' John...

Lets face it this, the good money, is the only reason you have not left us before because us mugs were foolish enough to give you something around the £30,000 per week amount after paying Rennes a ridiculous £7!

The Star also 'claims' that we will let him leave for as little as £1m, simply to get his '£35,000-a-week wages' off the wage bill.

Can the guy please just go now - there has been far too much talking about him making a move but far too little actual sign of a move taking place!

Unless he gets wages offered anything like what we are paying him he will not move on, so I would not be in the least bit surprised to see him still here when the season kicks-off...

Further 'reports' today are also saying that Kevin-Prince Boateng's move to Genoa is not 'off' it has just 'stalled' and West Ham have, ONCE AGAIN, returned for Tal Ben-Haim, who was firstly in dispute over wages and agent fees and then said to have failed medicals last week.

'You almost forget the 'good money' John...' - you've got it in one, Rug. We are hoist by our own petard. I have a sneaking sympathy with Utaka and co. - I wouldn't be happy with a massive pay cut, but Utaka and his agent have to get real and admit that he isn't worth the massive wage we've been paying him.

Three good games a season is all John has in him - £28,000 a week is a lot for that!

We paid Rennes £7? Still seems a bit over the top.
