Pompey statement on HMRC appeal

Pompey have issued a statement - see below - in relation to HMRC's appeal against the CVA approval.

This statement, as issued on The Pompey Site, talks of the club looking to see this appeal process pushed through sooner, rather than later so the club finally try and get back on its feet.

See below for more details...

Portsmouth Football Club Statement

The Joint Administrators confirm that Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs have made an application to court to appeal the decision of the creditors meeting on June 17 2010 approving the Company Voluntary Arrangement.

HMRC believe that it should be revoked or suspended on the grounds that HMRC have or will be unfairly prejudiced by the decision and there was a material irregularity in the way in which the votes of creditors were counted at the meeting.

The Joint Administrators are concerned about the effects that this appeal will have on the club and its long-term future and are working tirelessly with their solicitors to defend the application and to obtain an expedited hearing date in order for this matter to be resolved as soon as possible, so the future of the club can be made certain.

There's nothing new about that though, pessimist! I can't panic any longer, I've just got to wait and hope for the best.

No of course we're not a bad investment at all. But any new owner is going to wait and see if we do come out of admin before they show the colour of their money I guess. I hear Rob Lloyd is still sniffing around.

I'm probably wrong, but all this is beginning to sound personal to me. I wonder how much Storrie etc., peed off HMRC? I'm certainly beginning to take it personally anyway....
