Sowah returns to Germany

The £500,000 that Wigan were 'said' to be willing to pay us for Lenny Sowah would be a 'fortune' compared to the 'measly' £165,000 we look as though we will get when he returns to Germany, as he is 'believed' to be on the verge of doing...

Sowah is out of contract - the club tried to keep him - and as such can move on, although we do get 'training compensation', all £165,000 of it from Hamburg, who have offered the 17-year-old a deal to return home.

Quite clearly, even based on limited appearances, the kid 'looks' as though he is going to be a good footballer with a good future, it is just a shame that this immediate future is not seen at Fratton Park as I do think we deserved some reward for giving him a chance and we would have offered him a good platform to build from, but hey ho!

It would 'seem' as though Lenny wanted a move away, so he has got this - good luck to him, although I cannot help but feel he has shown a distinct lack of loyalty (then again who does show this these days in football) and 'might' well find moving on as soon as he is may well not be the smartest of moves? Time will tell...

The better news is Kevin-Prince Boateng is 'understood' to be attracting interest from Greece and France as well as Italy now, even the Germans are 'said' to have 'forgiven him' and there is German interest again too.

We 'might' well see a bidding war for one of the stars of the world cup afterall!

Also David Lampitt will hold further talks with David James today as we bid to convince him to stay with Pompey next season.

UPDATE

It has now been confirmed on The Pompey Site that Lenny has indeed returned to Germany to join Hamburg.

Good luck to the guy, although as said already I cannot help but think he has 'maybe' made a slight mistake as I feel sure he would have played more for us, and sooner, by staying but there you go.

His actions have seemed somewhat 'mercenary' though, especially after we gave him a break, so it could be that we are better off without him? That said there are usually two sides to a story, right...

Poor attitude so I'm glad he's off, he and his agent engineered a contract dispute to leave so good riddance.

Now Coles has gone I'll be surprised of Jamo stays.

i thought he was contracted to us !???? didnt think he was one of the players that were free to leave ... this is bad for the club but they are all doing it look at leeds they produce lots of great youngsters and then they leave for next to nothing.. ie arron lennon

Lenny Sowah has joined Hamburg on a Free Transfer! It's because he declined a new contract. Because it's believed Pompey offered him too low wages, of what i've heard of £150 a week.

Thanks a bunch, Lenny.

Rug, so you were right Sowah has gone. Is that another bit of spot on what was it Chix said " pure speculation"; seems like it to me. Just as you said about Coles and Groves. Back to Sowah, remind me will you cos I also recall Chixy bet Vital Pompey, we assume all of us, £20 Sowah that wasn't going. I'm looking forward to spending my Chixy £20 or to use the footie venacular- my Chixy score :-)

How much longer before you guys and gals can start looking forward to bringing players in? If the players leave your ship any quicker they won't even be able to claim it was bloody sinking.
SFC Forever
2 weeks SFC, I didn't know Shoreham football club had a Vital site; or does SFC stand for Stubbington? Swanwick maybe? Ok, ok i got it- it's Sarisbury isn't it; those are the 4 biggest teams starting with the letter S in Hants and Sussex. The rest are all rather minor teams; with all due respect to Sonning.
