Pompey NOT at the world cup - Kevin Prince Boateng

The world cup, as far as current Pompey involvement goes is over after Kevin-Prince Boateng's Ghana went out on penalties to Ghana last night, unfortunately so.

His reputation has been enhanced massively in South Africa though, so 'fingers crossed' we now get a price for him that is fitting?

I will hand over to russellm who shares these thoughts...

The Prince HAS become a King

I can tell you he had a quiet first 20 minutes, but then he decide to wake up linking well with Gyan and the defence. He brought Asimoah into the game and had a rasping low level shot just pass the post with the keeper beaten.

Boateng, who joined Ghana properly for the first time a month ago, became a real handful for the Uruguayans in what was a really open game tearing the blue and whites apart he set up the team for an old time Muntari special which flew past the keeper in the top corner.

Some players can only raise themselves for the big game and when the ITV commentator called "Prince" one of "the players of the tournament" the player agreed, strong tackles and real effort culminated in a bicycle kick that just sailed over the bar, replay showed it came of the player's shin.

What price the Prince now?

Remember, even though England are long since gone, the world cup continues so follow this with us over on Vital England - here.

Its a shame he is so temperamental. Still, as you say, hopefully we can get a good price for him.

To be honest, I rated him as a player before he signed for Pompey and was plaeased when he did. However, his attitude at times and a lack of maturity that he showed all too frequently were a disappointment. Having said that, he's still very young and in five years time (when he grows up) Prince could be a very, very useful player. Let's hope that his high profile performances at the World Cup have added a few quid to his price.

Muntari crosses and Prince just fails to nod home the radio commentator murmurs almost a goal made at Fratton Park and performed in South Africa!

Sorry Rug, 50mg of Codiene, 50mg of Diclofenac sent me to sleep before I got to see the second half, woke up at 11.17 this morning. Reading the words I must have come over all Clive Tyldesly- what a prat.

Never liked the bloke ... but can't deny he has had a cracking WC and if we can get another Million for him then that is great innit.

I think he is a great player, but suffers from an abundance of arogance, when he matures you could be looking at twnety Mil to sign him, but at the moment, a few quid more for us can do us no harm!

i am with chixy that all in all i have not liked the bloke, and tbh i think he will have the same 'look at me i am a superstar' attitude and 'everything should go through me and if it is not i will sulk' mentality wherever he goes - but his world cup 'should' have seen something added to his value...
