Season tickets selling well

After slow sales, very slow sales in fact, to begin with it has now been announced that season ticket sales are going well! Almost 8,000 have been sold so far, which is only around 600 less than this time last year in actual fact!

The next aim for the club is to top season ticket sales from last season, when 11,400 were sold.

More info, as issued on The Pompey Site, can be found below - including praise for the fans that have purchased/renewed...

Chief Hails Fans Over Season Ticket Sales

Pompey chief executive David Lampitt today thanked fans for their incredible loyalty with nearly 8,000 season tickets already sold for next season at the end of the early bird period.

Despite relegation from the Premier League and the uncertainty that has surrounded the club, almost as many season tickets have been snapped up as at the same stage last year.

Season ticket sales have rocketed since the appointment of Steve Cotterill and the agreement of the CVA a fortnight ago, paving the way for the club`s exit from administration.

A total of 7,859 season tickets had been sold at the end of the early-bird sales period on Wednesday night, compared to 8,529 last season.

Supporters queued outside the ticket office to renew their seats for next season in a display of loyalty to the Pompey cause.

Lampitt said the club would now love to top the 11,400 season tickets sold last season.

He said: "What an unbelievable bunch of supporters we have. Despite everything they have been through the fans have shown just how much they care for the club at a time when their support is more valuable than ever.

"To have sold nearly as many season tickets as at this point last season is a testament to the spirit and loyalty of our supporters.

"I would just like to say a big thank you to each and every fan - the club would not be here without them. And if we manage to surpass the season ticket sales from last season, which I firmly believe we can, what a great message it would send out.

"I couldn't think of a better statement to the rest of football about what this football club means and why it is such a special club to be part of."

Supporters wishing to change seats can only do so in person at the ticket office. This can be done on Thursday, July 1 (9.30am-4pm) or Friday, July 2 (9.30am-4pm).

New season tickets can be purchased at the second phase early bird rate between Monday, July 5 and Friday, July 16.

Final phase sales start from Wednesday, July 21.

Season tickets can be purchased online, by phoning 0844 847 1898 or in person at the club`s ticket office in Rodney Road.

Any supporters wishing to purchase a season ticket by debit or credit card (stand or hospitality) are assured that payments made by this method will be administered by Barclaycard Payment Acceptance, thereby ensuring that these payments are ring-fenced and the funds will be released to the club throughout the season as the club fulfils its fixture commitments.

This applies if you pay online via the e-ticketing portal or pay in person at the ticket office.

Additionally, any supporter wishing to take advantage of the three-month interest free or six-month interest bearing payment plans via Zebra Finance are assured that these purchases will be dealt with in a similar manner.

In this case these funds will be placed in a separate protected escrow club bank account as will cash payments for season tickets via the ticket office.

These arrangements covering all offered forms of payment will remain in place for the whole of the season.

In the extremely unlikely event of the club being unable to complete its fixture obligations for next season, with season ticket revenues held in specifically protected bank accounts fans would receive proportional refunds equating to those matches that were unable to be played.
