Pompey NOT at the world cup - David James

Pompey NOT at the world cup - David James

England's Pompey involvement at senior level ended, perhaps never to happen again, in disappointment on Sunday.

To finish off the 'Pompey at the world cup' for our, maybe, soon to be former keeper David James I take the, what might seem an 'unusual step', in using thoughts shared by Vital member Dave the Yid for Vital England here to, as I think it is a fitting tribute to sum him up and is different from me basically repeating what I have all the way through for Jamo...

James in the top two players of the tournament for England

'Ok, its small consolation after the abysmal display the men representing the Three Lions of England put out over the last couple of weeks, but credit where its due to a couple of our men.

'David James really seized his moment when called upon.

'He was commanding, assured and did all he can to conduct the complete shower that was sat in front of him. It is no doubt his swan song as an International player, so well done to him.'

Remember to carry on following England - ok, not at this world cup but in the future - and the remainder of this world cup in general, with us on Vital England - here.

He should've complained to the press a lot less but other wise I would say he probably was the best England player. If Pompey can keep him now remains to be seen, all the time he was in Sth Africa he wouldn't talk to another club about his future and that was giving the club time to get something sorted out.

I was proud of him yesterday. Very very small crumb of comfort though in what was a terrible performance by the rest of the players, the manager and the officials.

Basically we were sh**, James tho did put in a performance, although shipping four isnt good, it really did come down to a shoddy shoddy defensive line, I really hope he stays for us!!!
