'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pompey's premier years - left backs

The premier league years are done and dusted now, the second tier of English football awaits us again - not that it holds any fear for me, well many of us really as we have seen it, done it and warn the T-shirt before.

In some ways it is like 'going home' and I must say that part of me is really looking forward to this! I am sick to the back teeth of all the politics and money grabbing mercenaries of the top flight that we have seen, the prima donnas on show for many nations at the world cup this summer continue, for me, to show how the game has changed and where the power really lies.

Do not get me wrong these past 7-years or so as a premier league club have been special and have seen us witness some good, strike that very good footballers turn out for us as well as some, well, lets just say some not so good players...

Sadly most of these top class footballers could not wait to go when the chance came, but hey ho that is modern football for you!

Although who, for you, as we continue our selection process, have been 'the good, the bad and the down right ugly' in the left back department for us in the premier league years?

Leave some names, and thoughts on these players, below please guys then we can look at compiling a good and bad Pompey 11!

The more names put forward the better the battle can be for the good and the bad of Pompey's last 7-years...

REMEMBER: This is focusing on left backs ONLY at the moment.

Obviously from the picture Matty Taylor is on there as one of the Good ones. Good: Hermann, Stefanovic(Did he play at Left Back?), Belhadj(Although better in midfield), Lenny Sowah(So far, we will see more next season). Can't think of any bad at the moment, was Lauren Robert played at left back? If so he is on the Bad side!

Good Matty T - bad Gregory Vignal!

We have had plenty of attacking left backs but they were all good going forward and bad for getting caught out of position.

Good - matty Taylor, belhadj, hierideson, Armrad Traore, Sowah Bad - Vignal, Robert, Lauren, Dijmi Traore
PFC-Jono
Hreidarsson and Taylor should top the list for sure. Traore was a very weak one though.

Boris"big time" Zivkovic for me
