Sky cameras in search of a league cup upset

Sky cameras in search of a league cup upset

Yep, that is right the sky cameras are looking for Pompey to cause and upset and beat Stevenage in the league cup.

I am not 'mocking' our league cup opponents, far from it!

Whist we are a club that we be a couple of divisions higher than the newly promoted league two club as things stand, at this exact point in time, Stevenage would have a fantastic chance of beating us.

Although we would 'hope' that our situation would have changed a little by early August and some of the players we want to commit to new contracts would have, and a few newbies are brought in, be that as free agents or as loanees.

So, by that time we 'should' go into the game as favourites really, right?

This does bring us nicely onto a recent poll I added actually, where the vast majority fancy us to go into round 2.

  • What the poll asked - Are you happy with Stevenage away in the league cup?

  • How you voted - Yep - we 'should' get through 86%
Nope - would have been better at Fratton 10%
    So, so... 4%

Either way it will be a good night (Monday 9th August, 7.45pm kick-off) at the Lamex Stadium as I am sure that plenty of Pompey fans will be making the trek, including myself 100% now.

As this is now being played on the Monday night it does not clash with England playing Hungary later in the week, woo hoo!

    PLAY UP POMPEY!

    Pompey aim remains the same

Doncaster, Carlisle & Plymouth are the teams to catch. Pompey are further adrift than we would want but the aim to finish top 3 remains the same. That's targeted in the coming weeks.
