The representation of Pompey at the world cup continues today.
On Friday night a POOR England side were represented by Pompey when David James got the recall that he deserved - and he did not let anyone down, even if virtually everyone else did, especially a petulant Wayne Rooney!
Nadir Belhadj had a decent game as Algeria secured their 0-0 draw with England and kept their chances of qualifying alive, whilst putting a massive dent in our own...
Boateng given the platform to perform again
Obviously nothing has been '100%' confirmed with anyone, for anyone, yet you cannot help but think it is almost nailed on that Kevin-Prince Boateng will be one of many players that will NOT be at Pompey next season - as it is though he is still our player at the moment so he continues to fly the Pompey flag.
I would say, after the opening round of games, that The Prince was the most impressive of the Pompey players at the world cup this summer so far - that said it was only him and Billy Belhadj that played! Although all the same out of current, and former, few would have pushed him that close.
Another decent showing from him this afternoon against Australia and he will increase the interest in him and 'hopefully' increase the value that he will bring to the club transfer wise, which will then of course go towards repaying our creditors, although the 'secured ones' are first in line aren't they.
'If' Ghana win this afternoon they will not only confirm Australia's elimination, even if this is not 'technically rubber stamped', but they would also take a massive step towards the 2nd round and would require only a draw against Germany in their final game to top the group.
Can Boateng help Ghana to victory though?
