Pompey sent to Coventry!

Pompey sent to Coventry!

The fixtures for next season are now out - as explained countless times over the years 'rules' prevent us from publishing the full list, or should this be greed...

Anyway, we now know that we kick-off the season on the road at Coventry - the scene of a dramatic FA cup 3rd round replay win last season that put us well and truly on the road to Wembley!

The first game at Fratton is against Reading the week after, another 7-4 would be nice eh.

We finish the season on the road at Scunthorpe - this is a game that EVERY man and his dog said they wanted to go to, being the final game will see this even more sought after...

Christmas and New Year sees Millwall and Hull come to Fratton with away games at Leeds and Watford during this festive period.

That is just about that, I cannot really mention anything else but the full list is of course available on The Pompey Site - here.

Oh, 11 of the 46 league games take place during midweek - how I have missed regular, and I mean plenty of them, midweek games!

So guys, what do you think of the fixtures? As always share your views below...

If we get the good news we're hoping for today then I think the excitement will really start to build for the new season...tough opening game though!

Tantona has it right. Coventry played excellent football and were tough to beat and this fixture has brought home how tough the season will be, even if we are embargo free and Chanrai, some Ukranian's, Lloyd or a n other buys and puts some funding into the club.

Nicked my headline there rug. Yes a tough fixture list and finishing at Scunnie too.

Special thanks to the Football League for sending us Millwall on Boxing Day and all the security problems that will entail!!

28 days until sign off and HMRC will object but they have to prove a new precedent; never easy. All in all really, really positive news. New manager ( sky says widely expected to be Steve Cotterille) on Friday/ Monday. Big chance to avoid points penalty; I'm getting hammered tonight.

I've only had the chance to glance over the fixtures so far, but its exciting to have them. Not sure about Leeds Utd on a Tuesday night, as this is a fixture I wanted to go to . . Sorry for having to ask this question, I should probably know, but whats the big excitement about going to Scunthorpe?

Finest in the Football League

I don't hide how highly I rate Chaplin. I feel he's the best striker in league two - better than most in league one. Cook said he is the best goalscorer outside the Premier League.
