The Prince to become a king?
Yet another of the soon to be 'former Pompey players' is Kevin-Prince Boateng, although he goes into the world cup, and will indeed end it, or at least until the end of Ghana's campaign - however long or short that will be - as a Pompey player, so our eyes will turn to him this afternoon.
Boateng impressed his national coach in a warm-up game recently, although if he has done enough to earn a place from the start remains to be seen - it is 'probably' more likely that he will start on the bench, although I suspect that he will play some part.
Again, from the clubs point on view, the more he can be involved and the more influential he can be the better, price wise, we 'should' do when he is sold, although he will not have any takers in Germany these days! I would also keep a low profile if I were him when the African nation does take on Germany, the nation of his birth, as they are not 'best pleased' on him at the moment...
Ghana take on Serbia this afternoon, ahead of the Germany - Australia game, so both will see this as an opportunity to lay down a marker, but will Boateng and/or one of the other former Pompey players in their squad, Sulley Muntari and Quincy, be able to help them do this?
Remember to follow England, and the world cup in general, with us on Vital England - here.
