Pompey at the world cup - David James

England's no.1?

David James is another Pompey player that may well have played his last game for us, although hopefully not. Either way Pompey's current captain is still a Pompey player at the world cup!

England's world cup bid begins this evening so all eyes around the country will be on the box to watch us we start our group C campaign, but who will play?

At the time of writing this, James, let alone us, did not know if he would make the squad let alone be the one that started in goal, although I am sure that all of us Pompey fans would back him to do just that.

Injury concerns continue to surround him so this 'could' make up Fabio Capello's mind?

I thought that he would be the man to do just that but with another injury cropping up this week who knows now...

Remember to follow England, and the world cup in general, with us on Vital England - here.

Absolute joke that he has gone with Green in goal. I can only presume that Jamo isn't fully fit. Good to see Milner in there though. Come on England!!!!!!!!!!!
