Did Groves not commit just last week?

Did Groves not commit just last week?

I know what is said, and what actually does happen can often be different things but just last week - I think it was last week, they all seem to merge into one these days! - did Paul Groves not say that he was '100% committed to Pompey?'

As said, this does not necessarily make it so, as circumstances can change but his thoughts were as long as Pompey WANTED him, he WOULD stay.

So, this begs the question WHY has Admin Andy felt the need to voice his opinion that he fears Groves departure?

Has he told him something else in private, although if Groves wanted to go why would he have publicly committed himself, so vocally, as he did - as said, what is said and done is not always the same thing - not too long again.

Saying you will stay as long as you are wanted where you are 'should' be the end of a matter, right?

Talking our CVA and making sure this is as solid as possible, and behind the scenes and not publicly, is the priority at the moment and that is what the guy should be doing so I do question the relevance of talking to The News about Groves, or many things at this point, when the guy 'seemed' to spell out his own future anyway.

A cynic would think that we are almost 'inviting offers' for him, for the compensation amount, as we are not getting the offers for players that were expected...

Admin Andy should not be voicing any opinions. He should be just getting on with administration matters. The man is acting like a club owner.

Andronikou should talk CVS and finance! Andronikou should let; indeed make sure Lampitt addresses these team things, I can understand before but now he has to ween himself off the urge to get in front of a camera and comment! Groves should make up his mind, I suspect it was solid before the Griffin non survival option arrived.

Rug, Groves could be using the only contract leverage he has of course, knowing that he's wanted else where. Another question for me is why isn't the news talking to Lampitt and sticking his face in front of the camera; he's the Chief Exec- isn't he? Why did Groves apparently speak to AA and not the Chief Exec? Haven't read the whole article so that last question maybe answered?

Prehapes AA doesn't want him here! So says he fears will leave just so he won't be hated by us.

bAlrAm chAnrAi !!! Coincidence? I think not!!! The guy has lost what little credibility he had in my opinion! Have never trusted this wide boy and he is doing nothing to change my mind. I so want to get my season ticket, and will be going regardless, but I am still waiting to see what happens.......remember, we were relegated last season primarily cos the team was put together late and had no pre-season - thus not taking advantage of our "easy" games! We are going to repeat the whole process again if the management do not get their finger out and sort out a leader and some players. Despair is setting in again.

That's what I thought Mad. "As long as I'm wanted".

anything except Marlon Harewood signing isaid maybe a year wont be long before we are in the 3 tier of football with Martin Allen as manager...We could still present as a good team in npower with cotteril or jewell or AN Other of that quality and the basis of the squad we have...if we get the likes of Ince or that other waste of space Brendan wotsit..then sign all the usual suspect that no body else wants such Harewood-who does live up yto his name, he's as fast and mobile as a lump of wood and as strong and reliable as a Hare)..we are doomed

WHY wouldnt we want groves here tho? unless he, and the other coaches are also on moster wages! there is also the thought if we cannot shift players then shifting the coaching staff, at the right price, is an option...
i think admin andy SHOULD keep his trap shut on ALL footballing matters now, this is lampitt's job, right? isnt this what admin andy himself keeps saying. talk creditors, refinancing them and CVA's mate - but NOT to the media...

Another Fratton disappointment

That 2nd half on Saturday against Notts County was woeful - absolutely awful wasn't it. The first 15-minutes or so of it was like a pre-season friendly to pre-season!

Match highlights - Pompey 1-2 Notts County

What a disappointment that was! The 1st half wasn't bad, in fact large chunks of it were good but the 2nd half was just woeful with a soft centred Pompey beaten 2-1 by Notts County.
