Peter Storrie- 'We've Cocked Up!'

Peter Storrie has confirmed what we already knew. Under Zejic and Perrin we made some shocking signings.

Storrie said: 'Let's be honest, we've made some cock-ups. We have to hold our hands up. We've bought some good players in, but we've also bought some bad ones.

'We're remedying that by getting far more information on players and being more selective.

'We're doing deep analysis on players, particularly those coming from Africa and South America who might find it harder to adapt to life here.

'We've employed more scouts around the world to help us make more thorough assessments of players.

'Laurent Robert, Kostas Chalkias, Collins Mbesuma and Zvonimir Vukic were all bad buys.

'Collins, for instance, is a nice lad, but he's not right for this level.

'The leap from South African football was too great. But that's not saying he won't go to another league in Europe and do really well.

'But we've done fantastically to get rid of some of the players where it has not worked out for them here.

'Gregory Vignal, who I didn't think was a bad player, has been moved on because we've done another clever deal.

'People don't realise how much money we've saved. They could have all been sitting here still earning money.'

Let's spend that money you've saved on their contracts and put it towards D'Alessandro's contract, what you recon Peter?

Peter Storrie isn't there to pick footballers ash. He's there to sort out the contracts of the people that the management say they want, and pay them what the chairman wants to pay them.

Ash, he doesn't do or broker deals either. Believe me. He is the man in the middle who makes sure that the wording in the contracts are correct. He simply goes to the player identified by the manager/chairman/scout, meets with their representitives and makes sure that it is all written down correctly. It's got nothing to do with him as to who the player is, how much we are gonna pay and how long and what conditions are in the contract. All that is down to MM and HR.

He is told the maximum and his job is to try and make a deal below that
