'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Pompey's Wonderkid

Pompey Pages-

Pompey's secret star has set his sights on making an impact at Fratton Park after upstaging Europe's finest young talent.

Northern Ireland teenager Daryl Fordyce has caused a sensation in his homeland after taking the European under-19 Championships by storm.

Fordyce finished as the competition's top scorer in qualification thanks to an amazing four-goal blast against Serbia and Montenegro.

That came after the Blues midfielder was converted to a striker by former Manchester United star Mal Donaghy for his country.
Fordyce's achievement was made all the more incredible after he went on the goal spree straight from a three-month spell out with a knee injury.

Now he is setting his sights on gaining Harry Redknapp's attention after the
greatest moment of his fledgling career.
Fordyce said: 'To play for my country and score four goals in one game was pretty amazing.'Now I want to get back to Portsmouth in pre-season and start things on a positive note.'

Despite the plaudits, Fordyce promised he would be keeping his feet firmly on the ground.

He has yet to get near the first team at Pompey and spent a month on loan at Bournemouth last season.

He feels he will have to go away from Fratton to get more first-team football next season.

But he is hopeful he can catch the eye as he enters the final year of his current deal at Pompey.

Will Harry give him a chance? Bournemouth fans how did he do?

Yes he does. He may end up being a top quality player but we need a bit more experience in our players.
