Transfer Update Two *Who Will Sign*

To read Transfer Update One, click here.

In Midfield Harry has agreed on a price for Emana who is expected to sign early next week. Harry is interested in how much Newcastle would allow Amdy Faye to leave for before agreeing to fee for Emana. With the D’Alessandro deal still well and truly on, other options include Lee Hendry and another left midfielder that Peter Storrie told me Harry watched.

“He is watching another possible replacement for D’Alessandro today, we won’t be held to ransom other this.” Storrie confirmed.

As you heard exclusively on Vital Pompey about four weeks ago, it looks likely that Wayne Routledge will sign for Charlton.

A striker- and Harry has five different lines of enquiries. Portsmouth could pull off the biggest coup since Chalkias joined in 04! Oliver Thormert is one of the biggest football talents in France and is expected to cost a lot of money!

Len’s would not normally allow a player of such quality to leave however Vital Pompey looked into it. It appears that the player would like to move to the Premiership but isn’t sure whether a move to Portsmouth is a step in the right direction. Vital Pompey are of the understanding that Len’s will sign Cisse (from Liverpool) and then allow Oliver Thormert to join Portsmouth.

Other possible options are thought to be Henri Camara who Harry worked with at Southampton. Or Theo Walcott on loan! Reports are gathering about this now after friends of the player said Harry was interested in the youngster. Harry will also make another enquiry for John Hartson, as a much needed target man, if he decides against Zigic. However relationships between Celtic and Portsmouth are very unsteady. Portsmouth where made to deny rumours about Petrov yesterday after Peter Storrie received a phone call from Celtic’s owner.

I also expect Harry to go back in for Benni Mcarthy. Although Portsmouth will have to pay big money for the striker but he would be a fantastic signing!

Who I expect to sign

Goalkeeper
- Chris Kirkland

Defenders
- Mate
- One other unknown

Midfielders
- D’Alessandro
- Emana

Strikers
- Zigic
- Oliver Thormert

If the one other unknown defender was good, I would be delighted with those signings from what I’ve heard about them. The expected cost of that shopping list is about… 24 million pounds. Presuming we didn’t loose any players, I believe a top ten finish would be a real possibility.

In other news- Vital Pompey will today learn if Portsmouth will co-operate with our stadium investigation or not?

If we get them signings we will have a very good team, we allready have quite a strong squad and to have them players come in would really boost us, i hope we get them.

Where do you here all this Les,if it's true they would more or less do us for this season.
pompey die hard
whats ure expectations next season?
green giant 12
Here is a suggestion for your next poll? Lets leave the relegation thing out. 1) EUFA CUP 2) Strong showing in the league say 8th and good cup run 3) I will be happy in the top ten 4) Safe but we will get a good cup run 5) Good safe season 13th and we beat a couple of big guns 6) Safe

My expectations are that green giant 12 will keep posting rubbish and i'd hope that maybe he'd ask his teacher to help him to spell properly.
FEn_100
If we sign al them, and keep the majority of what we have already, i reckon we will be third in the league in the wages stakes behind Man utd & Chelsea.
FEn_100
FEn, the first thing is that Pompey will build on last season, for mine 10th, You are going to be needed to be linked to players to get good players, undoubtdly Harry can do the biz. Wages, dream on I read about the upgrades to the toiltets at FP.
TeddyLyon
"Wages, dream on I read about the upgrades to the toiltets at FP." SWorry Teddy, don't quite understand what your saying there mate. have you seen the sort of money that quite a few of the 'fringe' players are/were on?
FEn_100
FEn, so wages are a problem, for where Pompey were last season it apppeared a large squad but I had no idea of what the players had been recruited on or some values. Perin? I would have guessed that Pedro Mendes would be on about $20k per week so that is all I go from. Based on Pedro as a 7/10 player I would have not thought it would be too hard to run a team plus new toilets.
TeddyLyon
lololol, The next thing you know, you'll be wanting nice curtains in the MM suite.
FEn_100
Those do need changing!

A decent toilet would do for a start, then we can put our postings up in there, at the moment the chalk wouldn't cut through the grease on the walls.
