'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Will he stay or will he go? #20 Tommy Smith

Introduction

To be honest with you none of us really know what to expect this summer do we? We can only 'hope' that this or that will happen, so we only really have hope, right?

Clearly our priority is to see us taken over, and by someone who will hopefully 'do right by us!' Granted this will be a businessman or businessmen who WILL want some return on this investment, that is football for you! But they do not need to fleece us for all they can!

All in all, like I say, this is going to, in many ways basically be 'guess work' and maybe some will be more ruled by the heart more than the head, a lot might have been dependant on things such as Uncle Avram staying or not I guess, and we now know that he has gone...

#20 Tommy Smith

Quite if Tommy Smith was worth the £1.7m, or so, we paid - or will eventually pay - was, and still is, a topic of debate.

I still think that he is a decent premier league player but more of no power league standard - yet he is a player that I, well most of us really, have a lot of time for.

Will he stay or will he go?

Unsure? Probably go though, although I hope he stays...

I have little doubt that he would stay given the chance, like so many players I guess really. But, and again like so many, I do not think he will be given that chance, which would be a shame.

Wolves continue to keep an eye on him and his previous with Mick McCarthy could tempt him to make that move, although other lower end top-flight clubs could see the benefits of having him as a squad player too?

It is a certainty that plenty of no power championship sides would be in for him and this is a level that he would excel at for us, or them, next season.

I suspect that he was given 'decent' wages when he signed, which could come into the equation on him staying or not, yet he surely would not be on the top end of the scale so what exactly do we gain by letting him leave for peanuts, and this is what we would do...

Stay, unless another club comes in for him with a good offer; problem is whilst we need the money we also need a proven champs striker.

I've got a lot of time for Tommy. He's got some class

like him to stay, even just to score a league goal

Not happy with the Brendan Rodgers link tho, the blokes a joke as a manager, curbs was my favourite even b4 avram (come too mention it avram, hart and adams) but i know he would be too expensive. on a "budget" rather have D James or Cotterill.

I like Tommys work rate, I think he would be an asset for us next season if he is still around!
