'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Will he stay or will he go? #17 John Utaka

Introduction

To be honest with you none of us really know what to expect this summer do we? We can only 'hope' that this or that will happen, so we only really have hope, right?

Clearly our priority is to see us taken over, and by someone who will hopefully 'do right by us!' Granted this will be a businessman or businessmen who WILL want some return on this investment, that is football for you! But they do not need to fleece us for all they can!

All in all, like I say, this is going to, in many ways basically be 'guess work' and maybe some will be more ruled by the heart more than the head, a lot might have been dependant on things such as Uncle Avram staying or not I guess, and we now know that he has gone...

#17 John Utaka

What can I say about John Utaka, or 'John U-f*****g, bloody, lazy git-taka' as I often find myself saying in my head, that has not been said before?

He infuriates us all as we ALL know what he can do, which makes it all the more frustrating that he does not do it enough!

Will he stay or will he go?

Stay, 'maybe' by default...

Clearly we are inviting offers for the guy as he has been mentioned by name as one of those that we could move on, and the club would expect to move on because he has the 'ability' and is still 'young enough' to attract interest.

He would be another that we would take a massive hit on, losing a fortune on what we paid - yet you can argue we have already due to the wages we have, and could still continue paying him. Getting the wages off the wage bill could see him almost literally given away, then again he would still have to accept wages offered by others and that could be the major sticking point...

If he could apply himself he would be a fan favourite, the fact that he does not means he is not - if he could he would rip up the no power championship defences. A desire to stay has been expressed, which is good to hear from anyone really, then again can you really see him being up for a cold Tuesday night game in Scunthorpe or Doncaster, let alone Fratton Park?

Nope, nor can I...

All in all though I have this feeling that we might, as we have done for the past 18-24-months or so, be unable to shift him due to his lack of application on the pitch, not to mention his wages picked up each week.

Most of these "will he wont he" articles are pointless. it's clear to everyone that outside Hayden Mullins, Jamie Ashdown, Danny Webber and possibly Tommy Smith, next season's Pompey side will be unrecognisable. However, it's probably the best thing for the club. I know a lot of the Portsmouth players were commended for their apparent commitment and will to win but in reality, you should not be relegated with the squad available at Fratton Park. I mean, even if you hadnt have had the points deducted you'd have still finished bottom and that to me suggests that the players dont give a crap about the club. Hopefully being relegated and moving everyone on in order to clear the debts will allow the club to start from a clean slate and build a team of fighters, similar that the days under 'Arry. Best fo Luck Pompey...you'll need it.

Be good if he stayed, could be great in the Championship.

Well you got off to a good start Kierzosbc, cos at least one of those you mentioned has gone. Good to have a cheery disposition though; cone again - no anytime.

Sorry bout the double above, if he stays it's cos no one will buy him

Kier, Ashdown will have to dig hard to find a team! Why do you speak if you are not informed! Then, that makes your comment POINTLESS!
