Will he stay or will he go? #10 Dave Nugent

Will he stay or will he go? #10 Dave Nugent

Introduction

To be honest with you none of us really know what to expect this summer do we? We can only 'hope' that this or that will happen, so we only really have hope, right?

Clearly our priority is to see us taken over, and by someone who will hopefully 'do right by us!' Granted this will be a businessman or businessmen who WILL want some return on this investment, that is football for you! But they do not need to fleece us for all they can!

All in all, like I say, this is going to, in many ways basically be 'guess work' and maybe some will be more ruled by the heart more than the head, also A LOT will depend on things such as Uncle Avram staying or not I guess...

#10 Dave Nugent

Dave Nugent was a player that I, and most others, had always had a lot of time for and given a break - although I cannot say that this is the case, well for me personally, now though...

To be fair he has not always been fairly treated by managers, or used in his natural position, but all in all could all have these managers have been wrong about his overall ability? As all, on the whole, had reservations about this you would think not?

A 'big time Charlie' and 'don't you know who I am' type is also something that he is said to be - and lets face it, is he really in a position to be like this, then again this is most modern day footballers for you...

Will he stay or will he go?

Go, and I think this is best for everyone...

'Super Dave' has spoken, the premier league is his level so he is staying here - if other clubs agree is another matter though.

Had he not been so quick to slag off the fans, doing so about the club is something you could argue was fair enough, I would still have given him a break - yet as we were the only ones supporting him to turn on us was a big mistake!

Clearly the club will not stand in his way as the fee we can gain, we WILL take a massive hit on what we paid though, and the wages we can save will be wanted but until he does go, assuming we can offload him, he would be wise to remember who decides his future. And it is not him, granted he 'might' decided where he goes but the club decides if he does go...

Unless he takes a wage cut though wherever he might go we could be lumbered with him. 'Should' that prove the case he will need to do some major bridge building with the fans again.

As our strike force last season was loans I can see him staying a forming a partnership with Tommy Smith maybe? I would much rather see Utaka go.

He thinks the Premier League is his level, I think it is more the Championship on Championship wages too. Agree with Bex he can score at that level Utaka would struggle in Bransbury Park!!

Funny thing is he made no secret of wanting never to return to Portsmouth. He could have had an opportunity to come to Burnley (Not that I was that bothered whether he did or didn't) but he burnt that bridge naively in my opinion. He said he wouldn't be interested in coming to Burnley if we were in the Championship, so one can only make the assumption he thinks he is good enough to play in the Prem. Has he done anything to prove he is good enough? No! He only scored six goals all season and his Portsmouth record is well documented. Now he could be left with no alternative but a trip back to Pompey were he doesn't want to be. Silly boy.

The bloke has been a complete pratt, if you are of the quality of Rooney, you may be able to pick an choose a bit, but Nugget most definately isn't. I think in fairness if he hadn't shouted his mouth off and had gone to Burnley on loan to get first team action and been open minded where his futue lies, then he could have walked back in and probably been a great asset in the Championship for us. I would make him sit on the bench in the reserves and let him fester there until his contract runs out and then let him go on a free then.

I think he is S H I T and should go asap. A primma donna before he arrived and has been ever since. Stick to Twix bars and cans of Coke in the stands Nugget, it's all you're good for.

Oh God! Nugget. I do not want him here. But to be fair to him, he has done what O'Hara did. So we perhaps can understand him a bit. I believe that Smith, Utaka and Webber will be our force next season!
