Uncle Avram - will he, wont he?

I, like many others, would like Uncle Avram to stay on as our manager next season, and I maintain my thoughts that the guy wants to even though we have been relegated - although he will ONLY do this if he can be given some cast iron assurances about our future, which I would think are, in all honesty, unlikely to come...

He has confessed his love for this club, which has really gotten under his skin because of us, the fans, several times. This sees the guy have a special relationship with the fans - the kind you love to see, and want to see.

In spite of this the guy has NEVER once promised 'not to leave' or said that he 'would not leave', so I cannot see how anyone could hold anything against him if, as I suspect will be the case, he announces that he will be leaving Pompey in the next week or so...

I think it is fairly self evident that Uncle Avram DOES want to stay, he would love to, but it also seems fairly evident that the assurances that he would need to be given to be able to retain some of the players, and have a little leeway to bring in others is not going to be forthcoming, is it?

So, it is with a heavy heart that I thank this true gentleman, and scholar, for everything that he has done for us and wish him well in the future, I do think that he 'could' well need it as I cannot see any other fans being as loving towards him and sharing such a relationship as he has with us - yet this special bond alone, in all fairness, can only tie someone to something for so long.

'Reports' today say that he has agreed to take over as West Ham manager and 'could' be unveiled today...

Yup looks like he may have gone after talking to AA last night. I guess that conversation said something like AG: "Do we have an investor ready to take over the club?" AA: "No"

Its another sad day in Pompey's history and i for one can't help feeling that this is another nail in the coffin for our great club. I wish Avram all the best for the future, he will always have a fond place in all our hearts

Hope he stays but if he does go, i hope its not to them Winkers in London. They get away with so much, and have debts like ours, so please do yourself a favour, and dont go to the hammers, wait till between August and christmas and pick up a decent premier club, as there will be many managers sacked by Christmas anyway.
Midge
I agree with Midge. If he does go I really hope its NOT to WH, who are in almost as much of a mess as we are. They have huge debts, and I am not sure their owners are the best thing since sliced bread either! Look at how they treated Zola! Their fans will turn on him if results dont go their way as well, and I am not sure that the fans really want him because of his Chelsea stint. Please stay with us, or go somewhere else other than WH, Avram, for your own sake!
