Defensive Midfielder On The Way?

Emana says he is close to joining Pompey. Toulouse's defensive midfielder Achille Emana has insisted that a deal is close to bring him to Fratton Park.

Emana said: 'Yes, Toulouse and Portsmouth are negotiating.

'I have been playing in France for six years now, and I would like to know something else.

'The Premier League is a fantastic championship, it interests me a lot.'

A fee has almost been agreed with Toulouse and it will then be down to whether Portsmouth can match the players demand. Peter Storrie has denied that a deal is close insisting that negations are in an early stage.

Do we need another central midfielder? Why are we going to sign this guy and offer Richard Hughes a new contract! We would then have three defensive midfielders. If Harry is trying to improve our defending we need defenders.

In other news- Harry will watch Zigic today to decide which of his four possible striker targets he will attempt to sign.

It's interesting that Arsenal were looking at Emana as a replacement for Viera last year.

must be good, but do we need a nother defensive midfielder?

Hary seems to view Gary O'Neill primarily as a right-sided somewhat-attacking midfielder. That leaves Davis, Mendes and Hughes to fight for 2 central (defensive) slots. Get an injury to one of them and Harry would start complaining he doesn't have enough defensive midfielders, wouldn't he?
