'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Savour the day

Whilst it has been, lets face it, all in all a crappy season, mainly for the off-the-field shenanigans, I think that it is important that we do NOT lose site of what IS important on Saturday.

I know there is still a lot, and in so many cases rightly so, of anger at what has happened to our club - and what is still ongoing with it - and we want, and need, answers to what has happened and what is happening still, although for me I am not convinced that tomorrow is the time or the place...

It may well seem like I am usually taking the 'easy life approach' and have remained 'conservative' as to what should or should not be done in an attempt to gain answers, but trust me, this is not the case. As said, there are times and places for this, but for me I do not think tomorrow is the time, granted perhaps it is the place, for this.

Saturday, again for me, is about offering the utmost support for those pulling on the blue shirt, the management team in place and those behind the scenes that are, and have, worked tirelessly this season - so I feel it is important to show them that we appreciate these efforts with the best form of support, and not let this sway into anti-support, possible. It is also important to remember that we DO still have a cup final to play in, and a final league game to follow, so seeing this through until the season, giving our best, is a must.

Lets not forget this IS the final home game of the season and this IS our final at Fratton as a premier league club for sometime, perhaps ever, so - and as much as I have had it with the premier league - lets savour this moment.

Lets also not forget that it IS highly likely that it is the last time that most of us will see the majority of these personalities at Fratton Park again, at least connected to us. For some it WILL be the last time they will see them full stop, as not all will make Goodison Park next weekend or the cup final - fortunately I can say I will have this chance.

Quite what impact we could have on the manager, coaching staff and/or players staying remains to be seen, and continued issues away from that on-the-field will most likely determine this, but Saturday is OUR and THEIR day, so lets not spoil it.

They will do the traditional lap of the pitch at the end, lets give them the respect that they deserve so they can do this in peace and show them how much their efforts have meant - yet lets also give them the chance to do likewise to us, as they owe us a lot, and to be fair they know it too...

I hope everyone takes heed of this message Rug. Well said!

It funny but I really like a lot of the players as footballing personalities (Herman, Jamie, Dinners and loads more) but at the end of the day, I troll along to Fratton to watch ten blue shirts and a pink or green or whatever shirt in goal. The bloke IN the shirt ... well it doesn't really matter, we turn up whatever. It makes it nicer when you've got loads of respect for the bloke (Pedro, Linvoy, Jamie) or when they are exciting players (Lassie, Johnson) but I can't imagine disliking the players enough to not turn up.

Am really looking forward to it!

Unfortunately I'm working a set of night shifts and can't make it (I have to leave at 3.30pm to get to work for 6pm) so enjoy the day for me and see you all at the Torch, hopefully.

It'll be something tomorrow and in regards to the PL I don't accept it's good bye I say it's Au-revoir. As you know I put a £tenner on us to win every game so trust me Rug- it's been crap on the field to!
