Honesty is the best policy...

Honesty is the best policy...

The views of football fans and clubs will, inevitably vary, that is a fact of life - some decisions made will not be liked by the fans, while the club will not like some views or thoughts from fans, although treating either 'as mugs' leaves no one as a winner, just losers all-round...

There is NO disguising the fact that this club has dumped on us from a great height for so long, ok perhaps not the club as a whole but senior figures within its involvement and enough is enough - this CANNOT carry on, the fighting needs to end an a peaceful, as much is possible, co-existence somehow found.

Of course this is easier said than done!

Yet, the easiest way for this is to offer an open, honest and transparent approach to things - and this, more often than not, even NOW, is not happening...

As said we, as fans, will not like some of the things that come out, but surely it is better to be open and honest about this instead of continuing to lie? Everything is being viewed as a lie these days so lets have some truth, even if it is a painful truth.

The fact that virtually every player has, or will have a price, is something that we know is the case. Yep, we might not like it, but so long as it is in the best interests of our future as a club, and a well run future at that, that has to be the case - although selling literally everything, and everyone, that is not nailed down IS NOT going to benefit the club.

We do not, or did not want 'a list circulated around clubs' yet it seemed inevitable that something of this type would happen, so WHY not just be honest about this?

News came out last weekend that this was the case, with a fax circulated with a list of names and prices wanted - this was denied as rubbish yet tomorrows visiting manager, Mick McCarthy, admits that Wolves received this so he will be 'window shopping' at close quarters.

If a list is circulated admit that this is the case, making a denial to then be found out as not being the case is something that this club has been doing, and keeps doing, and this cannot carry on.

The truth CAN hurt, but it does not hurt as much as being 'lied to' about things, treated like mugs and then finding out this was the case afterall.

'Transparency, honesty and openness' is something that the club have said they want to give and something that we want to get, so lets see more of this, or some of this - it is getting to a point where it is almost too late for some, and has become too late for others, to be convinced things can chance but they must as people cannot continue to be pushed away like they are. As much as they might want to it will not always be easy for them to return from this...

Vital Boxing - Bellew Wants Lebedev Next

Yet another feck up by AA, he said on the radio that it was a fake and hadn't been sent out yet it appears to of got to a fair few clubs, of course maybe it was just Fone Jacker doing it for a laugh...

Tend to agree with most of what you say Rug but it also takes loud mouthed supporters groups (I'm excluding no-one) to stop thinking they know best in every aspect of running a football club and publishing a two page 13 point criticism of the Adminstrators practises .. interesting those in question haven't published AA's response yet (which you know I've seen)... seems openess is only appropriate when it suits eh !... Yes be up front, yes be cautious, yes be critical .. but there are ways and means .. How would we like it if somebody plastered a letter across the net detailing 13 points about inaccuracies on Vital Pompey .. answer is we wouldn't and then why should AA - Open I agree with .. but it has to work both ways and this gang warfare on the club by sections of it's own (un) organised supporters has to stop .. Have we learned nothing of the Swindon supporters of how to deal with AA .. We knew what they did and how he responded .. and now (some) Pompey fans do the exactl same thing... He'll shut up shop and we will hear nothing if the constant harassment doesn't stop ..

Whether we like it or not our fate is in the hands of AA. I just wish that both he and the supporters groups would shut up and only release statements as and when they're factual and in the interests of the club. Making fatuous statements which then encourage inevitable sniping does nothing for the future of the club.

Rug i agree with your points however i think Chix has it absolutely right. When i read that Administrators critic i forwarded it to a Spurs supporting mate ( you know who) and his response was striking;" what i'm reading Russ are rants from wannabee football club owners who are trying to bully their way into the boardrooom". I think that comment sums it up nicely. I think from Mudie's previous manipulation on quay -who can forget his Peter Storrie is just so wonderfull speaches- anybody else here an apology for that - hmm no me neither add the other so called fans reps that are on the show it seems a war on the people trying to keep the club afloat smacks of a counter agenda. This combined with Chix's knowledge of an AA response reinforces my suspisions about these people who purport to represent all supporters are in fact want a war on the club and are on a massive ego trip; as said before i would struggle to trust these so called fans reps with a pair of scissors. Noting the first line of the " open letter" the administrator is not at all obliged to meet with them, correspond with them nor was he obliged to go on the Quay to explain or answer questions, or offer to return to answer questions. Quite frankly id rather the AA team were concentrationg on the CVA rather than justifying themselves to people who want power yet dont seem to have the wherewithall to manage it. We need honesty and consideration on both sides and im afraid its sadly lacking, as much on the fans side as anywhere.

We have an administrator who is not an independent party, but one who has an alterior motive being appointed by Chanrai.. He has a hidden agenda.. Please HMRC get this vulture OUT and appint an independent party... AA talks the talk, but gets found out for being a liar on umpteen occasions.. Fed up with the whole corrupt episode over the last 12 months and even though I have been a die hard Pompey fan for 45 years, enough is enough.. This is NOT the club I grew to love.. It has been destroyed by vermin and crooks. One such crook, Peter Storrie, has had his fat cat salary and done nothing to repay the unpaid charities under his tenure. I understand he has a seat in the ROYAL BOX at Wembley. Get him out.. Get him to donate his seat to the charities. This man has pocketed and led our club to ruin. Back to AA... what happened to blabbermouth's statement that he woud call in the police if corruption was discovered..We have already been told of 1.5 million being paid illegally. How about it Mr alterior motive? Come one HMRC get this bloke OUT.. He is not an independent party. I have had enough of all this and this is NOT the Pompey I grew up to love... Chanrai has the ground.. Gaydamak the land around it, we are shamed by administration, non-payment to charities, a joke vollainous outfit to the rest of the footballing world.. There will always be a Pompey in my heart, but it is no longer that outfit that exists. Let it fold..

Well said Exile, understand your feelings.
30/04/2010 17:05:00
AA is certainly not acting as someone without bias or agenda should, so the only conclusion is to agree that the suspicions we had from the start that he is in the pocket of the man who appointed him, ie Balram Chanrai. But I agree that self appointed groups having a go at him doesn't help anything. As Blue says, he's in charge, like it or not, so we have to wait and see what he can do.
30/04/2010 18:27:00
I agree with Tracy. There is nothing the fans can do except exacerbate the situation cos at the end of the day AA holds all the cards. I don't like it, but I think the groups need to sort out which battles to fight and which ones to leave well alone. That way, they might win the war.
30/04/2010 23:25:00
pompeyexile, if my memory serves me well then the HMRC tried to contest the validity of AA in court and they finally held up their hands up in defeat so why the hell would they come back now to attempt to remove the administrators after giving them their blessing a couple of months ago?! Let the club fold? Fork That. That's the most stupid thing I've read in the last 18 months. If that's all you have to offer then stay exiled, we are in a very bad way to the mo but the situation is more than retrivable and once that happens then all the deadwood will have departed. 19200+ that went yesterday haven't given up, in fact took every oportunity to remind the rightly so celebrating wolves fans that if you want to take the yellow liquid from us then you will get it from both barrels with interest (they will never try to start a mexican wave again!!!) Anyway, let us leave AA to get on with his job and sort the CVA so we can move forward again and get back to where we belong, hasn't it all been raked over enough? Don't agree with PS getting a box seat over local creditors/charities, remember tho everybody, even if he does get have his moment then it will be definately his last. We have a long way to go before we are rebuilt but until then patience and unity is required. Proud to support Pompey yesterday and til I die. PUP
