Southsea parade regardless

The victory parade for the 2008 FA cup win was magical, a really special day for Portsmouth Football Club, the fans and of course the city - I am happy to say that as I ensured my cup final plans included a weekend stay in Pompey I could do this...

So, knowing that a parade WILL take place, win or lose, is good to hear!

We knew that we would see a victory parade should we win the cup, but knowing there will be a small parade even if we lose is good news. This will enable the players to offer their thanks for our support this season, and say their goodbyes really as a large number will not return next season.

It will be interesting to see who turns up should we lose, I think we will get a clearer indication of who actually really would want to be here next season - should they have the chance - by who does attend this, right?

Ok, players will have a world cup, international friendlies or holidays to prepare for but an extra day would not hurt anyone would it, and I feel the fans deserve this respect from the players, and the club, so I would hope most will attend regardless of the result the day before - we ARE owed this!

Although we WILL win the FA cup, so this will be a victory parade, not a runners-up parade anyway!

My biggest regret, and this really does leave me gutted, is that I most likely will not be able to attend the parade, victory or otherwise, this time as it looks like my cup finals plans will only involve a brief stay in Pompey, if a stay at all, and I will be travelling back home on the Sunday morning, if not before...

Ah Nice One!! Will be great just to salute the team for there great work season. With all the boardroom troubles, the players carried on and most of them worked there socks off. So they deserves this. Win or Lose. But Hopfuly Win.

Yes the last parade was a magical day. Suggestions that 250,00 were there. Shame some of them didn't get to FP in the two years since!!! Whatever the outcome with Chelsea, it will be either great day or just one of those out of this world days!!!

mad - good point IF we lose which of the unattached players will turn up? In 2008 a few were missing and we won!!

We'll be there, if my blood alcohol level allows me.

be really interesting to see how many 'fans' turn up if we lose... i'm sure it'll be a fraction on the 250k thats for sure. either way i'll be there and it'll be great to cheer the players on again :)

Be more interesting to see how many of that '250k' turn up to support the team next season! (Still assuming that we have a team at that point)..

I'm really pleased about this, our players (and Avram) have done us proud this season, and I will be there, taking the opportunity to applaud them.

Sorry for double post above. The other point I want to make is we do NOT want Storrie there. Or Andronikou. Or Chanrai or any of the former cronies Azougy/Jacob/Sulaiman. And I hope the leading councillors don't come along and start basking in any reflected glory too. Its just the fans, the manager and the players.

Regretably wont be able to attend the sunday as already booked elsewhere, but it will be a great event. Shame we cant have stocks on the common with the villains in them though, for all to throw wrotten veg at, take your places Storrie and Rewdcrapp, i am sure you would attract some takers, even charged 1 a go, it would raise enough to pay off another charity

If we win it'll be another resounding parade, but if we lose I hope it doesn't turn into an embarrassment. I'm coming back for the final, got my ticket, so I hope the weekend will a good one all round.
