Season ticket info

The news that many of us have been waiting for has now arrived.

The Pompey Site have announced, see below, the cost for season tickets next season and match day prices.

Season tickets have been cut by as much as 200, with match day tickets also cut ranging from 8 for juniors to a maximum of 23 for adults.

A lot depends, I would imagine, on who takes over as to who renews/buys a season ticket but at least we now have some figures to look at and work with and in all honesty, and fairness, these are NOT bad prices are they...

Season Ticket Prices Slashed

Pompey have cut season ticket prices by up to 200 for next season.

Existing season ticket holders who renew before the June deadline will pay just 399 for an adult ticket which works out around 17 a match. For juniors it's 175 - or 7.60 a match.

Pompey's head of operations Lucius Peart said: "We've taken a lot of advice from fans and feel that the prices we have set for the 2010/11 season are good for both the supporters and the club.

"We have made the prices a lot more affordable and hope that will attract as many fans as possible - both new and existing season ticket holders - back to Fratton Park next season.

The Blues will play four more home games in the Championship - 23 compared to 19 in the Premier League.

Matchday ticket prices have also been significantly reduced with savings of up to 45 per cent on last season. Seats in the Fratton end, north stand and upper south stand are 23 for adults and 11 for juniors.

Season tickets can be purchased online, by phoning 0844 847 1898 or in person at the club's ticket office in Rodney Road.

Ticketmaster's online and phone services can only process 'standard' season ticket renewals involving payment in full by debit or credit card. Standard refers to the season ticket holder renewing the same seats as previously held. Supporters wishing to change seats need to do so in person at the club's Rodney Road ticket office. This also applies to concessions, ie a senior citizen purchasing the same seat as held in 2009/10 and paying in full would be able to buy online/by phone.

Please note: Senior is aged 60 or over on or before September 1 2010. Young person is aged 17-22 on or before September 1 2010. Junior is aged 16 or under on or before September 1 2010.

Accompanied juniors must be booked at the same time as an adult season ticket holder and sit beside them. Unaccompanied juniors must be aged between 12 and 16.

Adult/senior/young person season ticket holders in the Family Enclosure must be accompanied by a junior.

Early Bird Renewals:

Existing season ticket holders can purchase season tickets at early bird prices between Monday, May 17 and Monday, June 21, although online sales will continue until Sunday, June 27.

Supporters wishing to change seats can only do so in person at the club's ticket office in Rodney Road. This can be done on Thursday, July 1 (9.30am-4pm), Friday, July 2 (9.30am-4pm) or Saturday, July 3 (9.30am-1pm).

New season tickets can be purchased between Monday, July 5 and Friday, July 16.

Final phase sales start from Wednesday, July 21.

Finance Options:

Supporters can spread the cost of their season ticket over three months or six months. The three-month option is interest free but there is a 20 application fee. Interest on the six-month option is set at a rate of 19.9% and there is a 20 application fee.

These finance options are not available online where payment must be made in full. Finance options are not available for supporters paying the full price and payment must be made in full.

Great news - hopefully I will be able to go to every home game on a week-by-week basis next season then!!

For work and sailing reasons I probably won't buy a season ticket this year but I will attend as many games as I can and put my tenner on Pompey to win each Saturday. With the very real threat of a 17 point deduction being imposed I wonder what the take up will be; some may consider it may be worth hanging on.

Sunderland offered their fans an early bird price of 380 for 2010/11. Puts it into perspective somewhat.

Well done Pompey, as long as non of the old owners are around next season then I will gladly renew.

That sounds a good deal all round so no excuses price-wise for an empty stadium next season.

I think thats done enough to ensure my Early Bird purchase. The Sunderland price is a bit of red herring for me, they have twice the seats we have Tony, and probably no where near the debt!! I would really like to see where this Season Ticket money is going to go, and preferably with a CVA and new owner in place, but can't really argue at the pricing....quite sensible. PUP

The prices are not bad at all, but I want to see what's happening with the club's ownership before I renew. Especially to make sure Admin Andy doesnt sell the club back to Chanrai. Is the early bird deadline June 21st or July - I thought the OS said July 21st??

What's happened to 'Pompey til I die' Hussler? Surely in the hard times is when Pompey need the support the most. The pricing is sensible.

Just read the announcement by Lucius Peart in the News. All the monies from Season Ticket sales will go into a special account (hopefully not administered by Icelandic Banks) and if the club were to go belly-up, people will get their money back. So I feel a little happier about that.......Here we go people, Pompey have another hour of need.....lets see if we fans are as passionate about our club as we say!!! Time to dig deep and get as many season ticket holders as possible. PUP

PFC Blue has a good point, there are some postings I can't see on my iPhone but Pompey till die seems to have a few caveats. I don't see why who the owner is should affect ticket sales particularly as the two most likeliest did not cause the problems, the 17 point deduction wouldn't necessarily put me off but I have to admit if Admin Andy was named manager i wouldn't put my weekly tenner on us to win.

tbh i do not care if pompey start on -17 or we have no players left...well of course i care, but you get me? my main problem is chainrai coming back in and getting his grubby mits on OUR clubs money and MY money! too many of these crooked gits have taken enough of our money as it is, the thought of him coming back in - saviour my arse! - leaves a very bad taste in my mouth. he would just finish the job others started. i am NOT falling for all this 'i do not want to take over i just want what is best for myself to get my money back and want the club to do whats best for it' rubbish, he WANTS us to welcome a takeover. if we welcome him back we may as well make out cheques out to balram chainrai and not portsmouth football club so he can put our money straight into his account...
all this said, i know, almost certainly that i will part with this money and get another season ticket even if he did take over - i just cannot see myself giving up my season ticket for a second time!

I'm sorry but I don't trust this 'special account' especially after what happened with the charity money. Also come to learn a little more than I used to about companies going bust, and I don't believe that, separate account or not, season ticket holders would be any more than small time unsecured creditors of the business, and way down the list. I agree totally with Rug. I want to renew, and I want to give the club my full support, financial as well as heartfelt, and probably I will renew anyway, but I'm certainly going to wait a bit and see what happens with the ownership first.

If you pay by credit card then you're covered for 90 days, I should think we;d be bought or bust by the time that's up. If not then 400 for a Community Shield ticket is a bit steep hehehe.
