Dave Nugent, the premier league 'superstar' himself, has declared that he is staying in the top-flight next season even if we - the club he is contract to - and Burnley - the club he is on loan with - might not be, well we know for a fact that we are not anyway...
Even if he did want a future with Pompey his wages would 'probably' mean that this would not be the case, although he does have to remember that he is contracted with us and unless someone comes in - and it will almost certainly mean a wage cut - he might not be able to leave no matter how much he wants it.
He had hedged his bets already by only extending his loan with Burnley in January, and not signing a contract with them - he has been playing them off against Bolton since, and he sees them as his 'way back' to the big time methinks.
In all honesty I do not think that many people will be sad to see him leave, we would have but he burnt his bridges with us the minute he dared to slag us off! By 'us', I mean the fans, which he did...
Ok he might not have been everyone's cup of tea but to be fair, on the whole, we WERE the only ones that backed him - 3 different managers did not, some maybe unfairly, but we stuck by him so for him to say we 'never gave him a chance' and he would 'show us we were wrong' did hurt.
Whatever though, as said I think he needs to remember he has a contract with us so Portsmouth Football Club decide if/when he leaves, not Dave Nugent...

Reality is Pompey have already said he won't come back, the club can't afford to turn down the sale money on Nogent; Pompey can't afford his salary. He doesn't want to come back even though Wilson is off at the end of the season. If he has spoken up it's because he has been approached by a prem or more likely newly promoted team.

The lad is, and has been almost straight after signing for Pompey, completely bitter. If he wants to be the PL star that he seems to think he is, this means competing with better quality strikers for a place in any given teams starting 11. He didn't play many games for Pompey as there were always better players ahead of him and when he did get his chance, granted he put a shift in which we all love to see, but he seemed to have all the composure of Azar Karadas! Some Pompey fans have a lot of sympathy for Nuge and he seemed to be a nice bloke, but for me he won't be a permanent fixture for a PL team, as he does not get enough goals. He seemed to want to blame everyone else but himself for the fact that he was not even in the same league as messers Crouch, Defoe or even fellow grafter Benjani. To conclude, Nuge doesn't even get that many STARTS for the mighty BURNLEY does he? Let alone GOALS! He must just prefer bench warming up north eh?!

His track record shows he's loyal only to himself. As Rug says he will go when Pompey say so.

Well I just hope we get a decent transfer fee for him to make up for the £6 mill Arry wasted on him. And that's from one of the fans who gave him chance after chance. He'll never make it as a premiership striker, he'll get a sore bum on the bench, whereas at a Championship side (not Pompey) he might start banging in goals again because that's his level. But there's more money in sitting on the bench in the prem isn't there. Thankfully we won't be paying it this time round.

haha, i might care if he was a good footballer but well, he's not so i honestly couldn't careless, but he's gonna need to find one helluva stupid manager to keep him in the premier league with his scoring rate XD

Was he referring to the Maltese Premiership? He isn't considered to be any good for here, let alone England!

1 flukey goal for England and he thinks he's IT! Well, if anyone is stoopid enough to pay £1m for him, then please let him go, but it won't be in the prem!!! He'd be lucky to be bought by a a Championship side with his track record......only Harry and We were mug enough to take him!
