Theo Walcott to Join On Loan?!?
Harry Redknapp will apparently excite every (most) Pompey fans by attempting to sign Theo Walcott on loan.
Harry worked with Theo Walcott at Southampton and is a big admirer of the youngster. Theo is yet to play for Arsenal and Harry apparently believes that a loan deal (with the option of a recall) could possible be on the cards.
I’m unsure whether Arsenal will let the lad go out on loan, especially after being named in the World Cup squad. If the player is told he won’t be a starter at Arsenal next year I think he would jump at the opportunity.
Reasons Why Not to Sign for Us
It may be seen as a betrayal to Southampton
He doesn’t have any chance of playing for Arsenal
He can’t learn off players such as Henry
Reasons Why he Might Sign
First team football to show Arsene Wenger
Has worked with Harry Redknapp before
Has family and friends on the south coast
In other news- Apparently, Milan has today agreed a fee for Zigic, thought to be in the region of 6-7 million pounds. Harry will watch the player Saturday and decide if he wants to offer, the giant of a forward, a contract.

It's funny how too weeks ago you published an article saying "Scummer in the England Squad" and now you want him to play for you, which btw, will never happen. Arsene Wenger has a certain way of doing things at Arsenal and he will want to make sure Theo trains, eats and conducts himself correctly. You dont pay 10 million quid for a kid then loan him out.

haha yer i know i did post that article heading. Just like Harry though, i called him a scummer when he went. You did pay 10 mill and not play him once this season. Half a season loan, i don't blame Pompey for trying and i wouldn't be shocked if it was accepted!

He's 17, he shouldnt be first choice. Michael Owen is now a victim of too much football at an early age, and I predict Rooney will go down the same route.
Walcott needs to be nutured, and not played every week in a team that has a (no disrespect intended) lower standard of football.

you haven't won at Pompey in the league! Harry has already worked with the lad and at the end of the day if he can score at Pompey regularly then whats he going to be able to do at Arsenal?

The fact that Arsenal have been in the Champions League for the past 8 years playing some of the most exciting football in Europe clearly proves we're a cut above you, I don't want to turn this into a slanging match because I have a lot of respect for Portsmouth, I think the fans are great and I've been happy everytime you've stayed up. What I'm trying to say is, it will be more beneficial to the lad training with Henry, Ljungberg, Fabregas, Hleb and co everyday rather than the Portsmouth team. Once again no disrespect intended, thats just the way it is. If Arsene was going to loan out Theo, he would have just signed him and then let him stay on at the Saints wouldnt he?

well he should have let them keep him for the rest of the year in my opinion. I take you're point but if he is in you're reserves next year, then he is better off at Pompey. Unless you're reserves are a cut above Pompey's first team?

No doubt we will be linked with a lot of players on the basis that their Aunt Nellie has been shopping at Gun Wharf. But 1st team fopotball on loan is better than the reserves. I'd rather have him than not but very doubtful.

Walcott coming on loan to Pompey would be a great signing on loan.

i am a pompey fan who works in southampton i was told last week by someone close to theo walcotts family that harry had approached arsenal to loan him and they would decided after the world cup one way or the other.

If I was'im I'd rather be playing alongside Pompey players in front of 20,000 plus than in the Arse reserves in front of 350 !! And that includes families, ball boys and ground staff....

I cannot say that it would be an exciting prospect if it happened, but alas, i don't see it. I can see both sides of the arguement, and maybe he'd prefer to play regularly at F.P. than the reserves at Arsenal. But i think it's more of what arsene wants rather than theo.
