*All You Need To Know About 'MATE'*

*All You Need To Know About 'MATE'*

First I would like to apologise for the time taken to gather information on this guy but internet research has been a nightmare. I have read about everyone’s mate called Peter!

Name: Peter Mate

Position: Defender (Centre)

Club: Debrecen

Born: 1984 December 2nd (21 years old)

Weight- 80 kilograms (12 stone 6lbs)

Height- 6ft 4

History: Been at the club since he was a teenager and before last season had played 30 games scoring 3 goals. In the 2004/2005 he played 26 of his thirty games. Last season he played a vital role and is thought to have played about 28 games.

Estimated Cost: Unknown- about 3 million

Contract- Thought to only have one year left on the contract and there might be a 4 million pound get out clause.

Other Websites View- Mate is a solid defender who has a bright future in football and is fully expected to move to an English or Spanish club this January. (Didn’t happen)

Vital Pompey’s Opinion- Mate could be what we need! He is a tall defender (which we need), he is solid (which we don’t have) and he is young (which we lack). I think Mate would not only be a short term gem but a long-term investment. Verdict- Sign this guy up a.s.a.p

Thanks for that les. Indeed, he does look as if he could be handy. I hope Duffy's knee isn't too bad either. If (as is thought) Duffy can do the business, then him and his MATE (lol), could be whats needed at the back.

I wouldn't bet on this Mate, but if the truth be known H might have a bit on the side. Who knows he could end up as H's soul mate. If he does a good job then he's our mate...as simple as that. A Pompey Matelo !!
