Wigan to Win Andy Race?


Wigan have revealed that they have had bids accepted for two 'high-profile' players.

'What is happening at Wigan is absolutely fantastic and now that we have secured our Premiership status, we can start building for the future and bring in the sort of quality players who will take us to the next level,' Spencer told the club's website.

'I can confirm that we have made a number of substantial bids for high-profile players and that two of those bids have been accepted.

'We are also busy pursuing other targets.

'However, I have learned over the years, and it is even more relevant at this level, that patience is a virtue when it comes to transfer dealings.

'We have always prided ourselves on being totally professional and we do not believe in revealing names while negotiations are taking place. This is unfair on us and the players involved and can harm any potential deal.

'Our supporters can rest assured that Dave Whelan, Paul Jewell and I are working closely to improve the squad and that we will continue to work around the clock until we feel the club is ready for next season.'

Wigan are thought to have paid the ten million pound request from Crystal Palace, after the striker reportable handed in a transfer request yesterday.

Portsmouth are thought to be in talks with Crystal Palace, however they are not expected to be able to match Wigan’s offer.

This could possible open the door for Henri Camara to move to Portsmouth, enabling Wigan to retrieve some of the money going to be spent on Andy.

In other gossip today, Harry Redknapp could possible be making one of the most exciting loan deals ever next week. (more on that later!)

Camara will have a few photos taken if he ever adorns a Pompey shirt. The bugger has scored against us a couple of times so now is the time to rewind somewhat.

Yes Les when the Yak put 4 past the boro' they wanted him big time didn't they. Well has he progressed ? WE DON'T HAVE AN EFFECTIVE STRIKER, In spite of what others say Camara fits the bill. Can you dare to imagine the run offs, centres from DALLAS and 'Camara scores yet another goal for Pompey'

Maybe they do les, but i'm talking about Camara, and i don't think he'll ever do that in the prem. He didn't last season.
