'The kits from the 2007/08 season were Canterbury's finest', not my vote, yours - although these findings from pompeyrug's poll are thoughts that I agree with...
The kit manufacturing partnership with Canterbury ends at the end of this season, although fir all intend and purpose this ended last summer really when their European branch went into administration - either this club is cursed and its knock-on affects are felt by others or we are a magnet to things that will harm us! Maybe a bit of both?
For me, whilst I thought Canterbury - at first - were among the best kit manufacturer we had seen for a while these kits have gotten progressively worse over the years and I think that the quality, of design and material, have seriously gone down since the first one in 2007/08. This season's blue one, not a good blue either, is a pretty poor excuse and more like a training top really although I do like the white away one and have got that one...
Perhaps it is easy to pick the 2007/08 one as that was our FA cup winning seasons kits, although even had we not done this I would still say that this was 'my favourite.'
In Kappa I feel that we have agreed a deal, and a long-term 5-year one at that, with a decent manufacturer so lets hope we have a little more luck with these!
Unfortunately I would imagine this means a new kit every season for 5-years, a 4 or 6-year contract could have meant using one for 2 seasons running, although I guess we need the merchandising revenue so a new kit year-in-year-out is something that is needed more for a club like Pompey, as opposed to some others that change every other year.
