5-year kit deal signed with Kappa

Would it be too presumptuous to, well presume, that a 'longer-term' future looks a little more, well, again 'likely', following the news that a 5-year kit deal has been signed with Kappa?

More info, as supplied by The Pompey Site, can be seen below - including news that we WILL be wearing a special 'one off Kappa kit' on Sunday...

PLAY UP POMPEY!

Kappa have signed a five-year deal with Pompey to become the club's official kit partner.

The deal starts from next season but the Blues will wear a special one-off Kappa kit in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham at Wembley.

Pompey's head of operations Lucius Peart said: "We are delighted to be working with such an iconic sporting brand and we look forward to building a strong relationship with Kappa.

"We can't wait to see the players take to the field at Wembley on Sunday wearing their new Kappa kit.

"It looks really strong and we have really tried to integrate all the historical aspects of the club's kit by being very careful and particular with the choice of colours."

Kappa CEO Simon Bamber said: "We are delighted to be partnering with Pompey. Their long history and tradition - and above all their incredible support - makes us proud to be part of the club's future."

Not too shabby! Jamo loves his pink eh?! Kappa's a pretty cool brand. Like it. Nice to see Royal Blue too.

The ironic part of those pictures is that I doubt that any of those players will be wearing that kit next season though.
pompeywa
And if rumours are true then Kanu may not even wear it for the rest of this season.

Its a much better blue than this year's home kit. Glad to see that things are actually happening in the club about things like this. Last summer was a total shambles with regard to things like replica kit and the like, but then we knew there were more important things to worry about, as well as Canterbury going bust. Blimey at this rate they might even fix the Fratton End clock!

Pure beut hey, loving the new top. Will you be able to buy it at wembley?

Shame about Gob*****e still stuck on the front! AT LAST ROYAL BLUE!! :-)

But what's that stuff that looks like bird crap on the shoulder. You know what they say...if a bird craps on your shoulder, don't ask her out again

As if we aren't enough of a laughing stock.... take the Kappa logo, then cover up the top half.... there you have it, a bird with her legs spread eagled, ready and willing.... (no intention to offend by the way)

Just got back form the meeting with Admin Andy. This is part of their planning for the future of the club. They guarantee that come the start of next season we will have a team to watch in the Championship! More on the meeting will follow when the minutes are published.

not too bad as kit goes; a real positive sign about the future as well!

All I really care about is having A proper Royal Blue shirt, White shorts and Red socks...thankfully there is no awfull YELLOW in it any more...BUT..I Would love to see two (RED and Blue) stripes in the collar and cuffs or at least one red. This looks a bit like The old Goodman’s Div2 top...unfortunately we lost a semi on Pens in it....lets hope we dump the ill fated white and vertical blue stripes..it looks nice but brings bad luck...red tops or white only for the Away shirt please

Gonna be interesting, Kappa kits are generally VERY tight fitting, can we get Chix to model one to get a real feel for it?
