Confidence is high Grant will be here next season!

'I definitely want Avram Grant to stay next season', not my vote, yours - although these findings from tracyc's poll are thoughts that I agree with to be honest and would like to see what he could do with 'his own' team!

Although enough from me, over to tracyc who says the following...

Not just your thoughts, but mine as well. I know that Avram has been criticised tactically, but I for one would like to see what he could do with a proper squad and a realistic opportunity to recruit his own players.

One manager jumped ship at the first sighting of a distant iceberg. Avram has stayed even though he admittedly felt like walking out, and who could have blamed him. Not just a transfer embargo, but players being sold from under his feet left right and centre. His own and players salaries going unpaid. And yet the man who people thought had no charisma has wowed over the fans with his passion for the club. And at the same time he's managed to build a team spirit amongst the little band of mainly loan signings and free transfers that he has left to play.

Avram understands the Pompey spirit of the fans. He's the one person at any management level at Portsmouth Football Club that I would trust an inch anymore (OK except Elaine Giles the ticket office manager, she's sound). But you get my point. Avram is genuinely on the fans side, and that's something we really need after we've been so badly let down by the succession of owners, and more than one person who was actually running the club.

I for one would like to thank Avram for being on our side, as well as for getting us to Wembley by beating the scummers on the way. And the only and best way I can think of to thank him is by asking him to stay.

  • What the poll asked - Do you want Avram to stay next season?

  • How you voted - Definitely 86%
    No thanks 8%
Only if we can't get a better option 6%

Before we move on what are your thoughts on what the last poll concluded? You know what to do, thoughts below please guys...

I think he is a proper gent, but I am concerned about his tactics which are widely criticised; and rightly so. I don't think the old squad story cuts it, he played quite negative footy at Chelski, whose fans that love Grant so much often booed; even the winning performances ;oh how the other half live with thier strife eh! I think his dedication deserves a trophy so if only for that reason I hope we win the FA Cup. Personally I don't expect him to stay.

he 'gets it' and i like that but i do have to admit that i agree with russ that his tactics at time have been 'questionable' at best - we ALL laid into hart for his failure to alter these tactics, so in many ways you have to do the same to grant really, out of fairness, right?
altho, having heard a bit of the quay on the way back from the blackburn game i was AMAZED at the amount of criticism he was getting for tactics that day WHAT was he expected to do? literally down to the 'bare bones', and a man light after vanden borre's sending off...there was not alot he could do.
i would like to see what he could do with his OWN team, then fully judge him - and feel we have a better chance of building one, even if it is made up of strays again, with him in charge altho in all honesty i do not think he will stay tbh...
as for the way chelski fans treated him, granted he SHOULD have been successful given the team he had - which to be fair he did not do bad - but we all know what the 'modern day' breed of fan is like, were these 'boo boys' the newer breed of mainly 'chelski' fan or the older breed of 'chelsea' fan?

I'd just love to see him get revenge on Chelsea by beating them in the cup final!

To whom it may concern - 1) Avram Grant got maybe the best league success ratings in chelsea's history(he was their manager since the 11th game of the year) and did it with a great performance of his previous club. 2)He is the only manager that took chelsea to the champ's final. 3)And he is doing now miracles with a team, that should stop playing long time ago. 4)His tactics are great, his strategic is great, he is got charisma, even the on loan players(that stayed) work for him very hard, even though they know that this is the end. 5)he is a top notch team kind of a manager, that happend to be in pompey and that's the best thing that pompey could dream of, for it future - That's my point of view. and if Grant will decide to stay and in the other hand pompey will reach a boss with a decent budget, we will see pompey back to premiership track very soon now and become a very strong power in the permiership.

    Another loan for Oxlade-Chamberlain

As I think we all know by now Oxlade-Chamberlain is the son of former Pompey winger Mark Chamberlain and the brother of Arsenal's & England international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
