Emergency Ward 12

Emergency Ward 12

The Pompey site have given us a detailed look at the injury list and how things are progressing.

Firstly the bad news and both Hermann Hreidarsson and Danny Webber face at least six months on the sidelines after their horror injuries at Tottenham.

A scan on Monday revealed Webber has suffered a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament. The striker will see a specialist in London next week ahead of surgery.

Hreidarsson has a ruptured Achilles and will have surgery in London next week.

Both were hurt in innocuous-looking incidents in the second half of Pompey's 2-0 defeat at White Hart Lane.

Ricardo Rocha - returned to training today.

Tommy Smith- returned to training today. Tommy may wear a protective mask when the team take on Blackburn at Fratton Park on Saturday

John Utaka - returned to training today.

David James - is having treatment on the sore left calf

Kevin-Prince Boateng is back running again after nearly two months out with an ankle ligament injury.

Papa Bouba Diop is also running outside following a knee injury.

Hassan Yebda is stepping up his rehabilitation work as he recovers from a knee injury.

Nadir Belhadj - who tweaked his hamstring in training last week, is being treated by the Algeria team's World Cup doctor in Qatar as part of a get-together for the national squad.

Tal Ben Haim is away in Israel seeing the national team's doctor over his troublesome groin injury.

Marc Wilson is due to start his rehabilitation programme this week to treat a sore hamstring.

Well I would suggest, we have one striker picked for next season, I'm not sure Herman will carry on though. He interested in coaching and has his PFA post

Judging from this you might have a couple back for the cup game. The more the better.

It comes to something when Utaka being back from injury is good news. But it is though.

Belhadj presumably saving himself for South Africa. And just after I had his name put on a tee-shirt for the semi final! If these hamstrings are not merely tactical, is all this because we have no decent back up with training, physios etc or is this all monumental bad luck. Still on the bright side, Tommy Smith in the mask might look like Zorro...will cheer me up

We know Danny you want to stay!

In case we had forgot Hollands has reminded us of his desire to stay with Pompey! I'm not 'desperate' either way in many ways but sorting this quickly would be best for all concerned.

Three more pre-season games announced

'Glamour ties' are loved but pre-season is about fitness and form so it doesn't matter if it's Barcelona or Bognor... Then again a trip to the Nou Camp wouldn't be turned down!

Sheffield United loanee open to Pompey return

McNulty would welcome a permanent transfer to Pompey. Although the Sheffield United striker could well be part of new manager Wilder's plans, so the chances seem 50:50 at best?
