'If It's Football, It's Vital'

We WILL cash in on Quincy, right?

'Word on the street' is that Spartak Moscow have offered us £250,000 to end Quincy's loan move early...

It is 'said' that they have potential buyers lined up for the Ghanaian international, hence why the sneaky Russian's are offering the money bait to try and tempt us into accepting a deal.

£250,000 is nothing really, although when you are in our position ANYTHING is a bonus and I cannot see Admin Andy turning this down, even if this is not something that Avram Grant might not want happening...

I like the guy, and will NEVER forget him for what he did against Scum in the cup this season, but for me he is too lightweight really and tries one too many tricks, which often results in him beating himself!

That said with a Wembley semi final coming up we DO need all hands to the pump, especially as we REALLY are down to 'the bare bones'...

So, 'if' we could get another 'vintage display' from him, a la the Scum game, when Quincy comes on and 'cuts 'em up' how much more, financially if nothing else, could this be worth to us?

If he is given room to gallop into on the Wembley turf, if it has not cut up so bad that it makes playing football on it next to impossible, all it could take is one flash of brilliance - or one burst of pace - and we could make the cup final...

I can see both sides of the coin here, although for me I think that ALL that will be seen is the money carrot being dangled in front of the faces of the Administrators, and those they are acting on behalf of, so although it might not seem like much I am not sure they will be in a position to say no to it - assuming of course this is actually the case anyway?

Take the 250,000 and give him back at the end of the season!

I for one think this is a good bit of business for once. Quincy hasn't impressed me in any of the games apart from the scum.
frattonbex
Avram, I'm due to play at Fratton on Sun 16th May as part of Football Aid. If you need me any earlier, give me a call.
bluedr
Hasn't really impressed me but I always feel he could do something.. Strike a deal .. let him go back after the semi (as I do agree with Rug about the room he'll get) and take £200,000 .. simples
Chix
The interesting thing here is how this will play out between Avram and Andy ... Andronikou 'promised' Avram only this week that the squad would not be touched !!
Chix
admin andy has promised alot of things tho hasnt he, especially on the NON interferance on the playing side of things more than once - yet this is not going to be the case is it...
pompeyrug
As Chix says, I reckon ask to keep him until the semi, take a lower amount of money and bring him on a sub when spurs start to tire. If he has a good game on a high profile occasion like that it's only going to bump his value up for them.

You cant make this up can you! 500k Loan fee paid to Spartak, and they want him back after 10 games he was available to play for Pompey for 250k , so by right we have shelled out 25K a game he was available for, and he only made an appearance in a few of them, so for those games he has played, its cost us about 50k an appearance so far, and then there is the 20 to 25k a week wages, I just cant fathom out who does these deals but i wouldnt let them anywhere near money! i just dont believe it, we got no damn money yet we do deals like there is a bottomless account! Only confirms my belief that football is staging post for moving large amounts of money about, where it comes out cleaner that what it was when it went in. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, otherwise this deals make no sense whatsoever in pompeys current financial. state. cant see me renewing my season ticket, not giving my money away to crooks
doggo
Remind me, were fees not involved with his joining, was it a Storrie deal?

Its going to a test of Admin Andy's mettle. He has clearly said, that apart from Dindane, no players will leave before the semi final and any that do will be agreed by Avram. So now we get to find out how much his word is actually worth. After all 250K is a drop in the ocean, isn't it?
tracyc
Depends on the ocean!! The Wembley pitch has been relaid so it should not cut up!!

I agree with Chix on this one. Rug, the most important thing here is to get the CVA and avoid a points deduction next season; Quincy is a luxury we probably can't afford and he wouldn't stay in anycase. The team value was not decided by Admin Andy, it was advised by honest Pete - so that's all right then :-(
